Roomy apartment with sea (and industrial buildings) view with short walk to a small volcanic black sand beach (also seen from terrace). Gated property and offers parking if you have a car. This is a good place to experience everyday life in the area (outside of major tourist areas)—food shopping, children and families… minimal English spoken since the property is off the beaten path. Good size kitchen and table with enough plates and flatware for 4 (only one sharp knife that needs to be replaced for bread or other cutting). Refrigerator has room for daily supplies and there is also a small freezer. Some basics for cooking pans and cooking utensils. Easy to use oven. Gas stove that requires a lighter to start. Seating area with TV. Two bathrooms with two bedrooms (firm beds). One bathroom has tub and one has shower. Some shortage on hot water. Large terrace. Once the grocery, bakery and coffee locations are clear, it’s easier to move through daily routines (like any rental). Improvements … one toilet seat is cracked and pinches your leg when you sit. Be careful—the shower flooded only after a 2-minute shower (apartment we rented (not numbered), so be sure to ask for the video. The remote was missing for the air conditioner unit (delivered next day). The listing said there was a washing machine (not there/big issue—Thomas said it was a booking.com error?). There is no toaster and no commonly used coffee maker (there was a very small Turkish coffee maker that we weren’t clear how to use). We walked to get coffee about 10 minutes both ways, but all good rentals should have a standard coffee maker and toaster. No paper towels upon arrival, no clean dish sponge, extra trash bags missing (one provided), no trash bags in bathrooms (renters must purchase to leave a clean space upon departure). There is a very small drying rack for clothes (we had to unexpectedly hand wash what we could).

There is a very small drying rack for clothes (we had to unexpectedly hand wash what we could). While we love a sea view and two bathrooms, the location is a bit out of the way. That being said, this rental was competitively priced, so depends on your vacation goals and budget, and the buses and trains are close by. The rental property has promise and I am confident that these managers will be a bit more detailed and this could become a renter favorite (check reviews after this one to confirm). The reason for my confidence in improving is the two property managers followed through on needs in 24 hours or less via Whatsapp.

The accommodation is as described in a private manned and gated area. Free parking if needed. The building/communal area smells good and is cleaned daily. Ideally located, 800m from the train station that takes you to the central station in Naples in 10mins. You can also use the same station to reach Salerno, Pompei, Ercolano (Vesuvius) (if you are prepared to walk a little bit afterwards). The view is really nice, bedrooms are spacious and bathroom clean. Kitchen is practical with utensils, plates, pots/pan to cook simple meal with hob and oven. No microwave but that is not necessary. There is a fridge/freezer. The kettle overflows so is useless but we have used boiled water in a pan which was better. There are convenient shops close by in the street to buy all your essentials like coffee, tea, sugar, milk, toilet paper, paper towel, bread etc... There are restaurants, pizza, bakery, fruit and veg nearby too. No washing machine or dishwasher which wasn't a problem for us. Communication with the host was perfect.

Being near to the train station, the accommodation is not quiet. There are local trains regularly until late and a fast train before 1am every day. You can also hear the neighbours at night (loud TV on) or early morning. This is obviously nothing to do with the host but worth mentioning. I guess it's still quieter than being in central Naples! This place has got a great potential, to be improved with hangers and more shelves in wardrobe, bath mats in bathroom/shower room and somewhere to hang towels. These are not essential to be fair but I know Thomas is really keen to make this house perfect.
