Villa Dora Polignano a Mare

Close enough to walk into the town & far enough to be outside the chaos of the town - Hosts were excellent

The beach was more of a cove for fishermen, it could do with some love & attention

Clean, modern apartment beside the sea. There are 3 good sized double bedrooms, a modern bathroom, an open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room and a pleasant outdoor terrace. A small local beach is just behind and can be reached from the rear of the property or from the road - it’s a rustic location with beautiful natural beauty which we loved. Air conditioning was effective in the apartment which came stocked with basics such as milk, coffee, water and other basic supplies. The owner greeted us when we arrived and was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. He drove us to the train station on our last day and brought us lovely croissants which was much appreciated. From the apartment it is a 15 minute walk to a big supermarket snd 20 minute walk to the centre of Polignano a mere. A Tuk Tuk costs €5 per person and are readily available. There are lots of great restaurants in the town and some on the way.

It was a bit of a walk to the shop to get bread especially in the heat but that’s nothing to do with the property. It’s always a balance finding somewhere close to the beach and close to a shop/town and this place does tick a lot of boxes.

The villa was beautifully appointed. There was not one thing overlooked.

I wish we could have seen the water as it was spectacular. You had to go to the corner of the patio to see the view. The steps down to the water were pretty steep but there were railing making it safe.
