About this villa rental
La Fortezza is a villa surrounded by greenery and in the absolute quiet of its private park, among ancient olive trees, oak forest and orchard.
It is located on a hill, just 6 km from the crystal clear sea of Polignano a Mare (BLUE FLAG SINCE 2008 and 5 VELE LEGAMBIENTE) with its marvelous sea caves to be discovered with boat trips. The villa is made exclusively of stone, wood and glass, on two levels, and is characterized by the presence of one hectare of park, a large panoramic terrace overlooking the sea, a solarium. The wood oven and barbecue are available for guests to prepare and enjoy pizzas, focaccias and outdoor grills.
The panoramic terrace, where you can enjoy a splendid view of the expanse of olive trees, white farms, sky and sea, is about 40 square meters large and is furnished with a large dining table in the shade of three holm oaks that "emerge" from the garden below : the wooden floor was built respecting the presence of trees through the creation of slots in correspondence with the trunks. Inside the park of La Fortezza you will find flowers and perfumes and many corners of paradise: rock seats where you can sit and read a book or listen to music, wooden beds to sunbathe and enjoy the sunset breeze. Seasonal fruits can be harvested directly from the trees to enjoy their fantastic flavor. In the orchard two rows of lavender to perfume your closets in the city! The park is completely fenced with an electric gate, alarm system and private security service.
Guests can enjoy free use of the park, the laundry room, the wood-burning oven and barbecue and the open room with exercise equipment.
The house sits on top of a hill, at the end of a private road, in the silence and quiet of the nature that surrounds it. The owner of the house occasionally lives in an outbuilding near the orchard.
Upon your arrival you will find a list of recommended places (with related addresses and telephone numbers): restaurants, grocery stores, pastry shops, ice cream parlors, boat charters (for sailing or motor boat excursions), beaches, places to visit in the surrounding area, taxi service, etc.

Our stay at La Fortezza was amazing! A beautiful property in a beautiful location with beautiful history. Very charming! Probably the best accomodation we have stayed in during our Europe Adventure & much better in real life. So much to see & do in all directions. Francesca was a beautiful person & host!

We spent four amazing nights at this beautiful farmhouse and honestly, it’s one of the nicest homes we’ve ever stayed in. Warm, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with multiple terraces and an elevated deck that looks out over the countryside and the sea—just stunning.Francesca, our host, was incredibly welcoming and kind. One of the highlights was a private dinner she arranged with two fantastic chefs, Letizia and Chantal, who cooked an unforgettable meal and shared stories behind each dish.We left feeling refreshed and totally in love with the place. If you're looking for peace, beauty, and a real taste of southern Italy, this is it. Can’t wait to come back!

This year we spent two weeks in Puglia, and got to know the surrounding country side and the delightful small cities near by. Francescas Fortezza was as near a perfect holiday home as can be: a large garden with various fruit trees and conifers in a colourful mix. One pond for the people and the other for the turtles. The house itself was a mixture of old and new: we liked the appreciation that was given to the work of past generations as well as Francescas own efforts to preserve the old in harmony with new additions. Thus the house was equipped with all the household items you could wish for, but also with solar panels and rechargeable batteries as a sign of a environmentally conscious host.
We have been travelling all ovet Italy for over ten years and Francescas home and her positive and active attitude towards her quest has been the most impressive of all.

Can't say enough great things about our stay here at La Fortezza. The house and surrounding property was absolutely gorgeous, spacious, clean and made for many memorable evenings on the patio after our day trips throughout Puglia. Francesca and Claudia are the best. You will fall in love with them as soon as you meet. Would highly recommend having Chantal make dinner for your group. It was delicious and so much fun. Thank you again Francesca - wish we could have stayed longer.
