The location, while beautiful, was much further out than I expected for our home base. It's 30 min from the highway and another 15 to the grocery store. Once off the highway, the road starts as crushed gravel for miles then turns to one lane with huge potholes, larger rocks, and finally a dirt/grass path uphill in heavily wooded area. We were in a Jeep bouncing all over the place. I don't know how anything other than a 4x4 could safely get to the house. I was happy not to drive it in the rain or at night. There was no turn sign into the property, and you cannot see it until you go down that path. Our first time going there we got off Exit 337 which we found to be an extra long and noisy ride. Much of the crushed gravel (11 miles?) was like driving over rumble strips and then you still have that last bumpy stretch. Exit 343 was a much better route. We saw wildlife along that way, too. The house is nice, clean, and has everything that you don't want to bring from home. I recommend owners have a can of bear spray there for an emergency. I am sure renters like us who do not need it for other activities would be happy to reimburse the 50, if used. It would have made me more comfortable. Beds & linens were great. We enjoyed using the bear-safe deck, but comfortable chairs would have made that perfect. Communication was excellent. I recommend asking all of your questions about wildlife at the house and the location. If satisfactory, you will enjoy your stay here.
