The Space:

Sea Rocket is a calm, stylish Whitby base, great for longer stays on the Yorkshire coast.

Set in a lovingly restored period property in a quiet residential spot near the station, it’s easy to walk into town, down to the harbour or over to the beach, while still having a peaceful place to come back to at the end of the day. It’s an ideal base for exploring Whitby itself, the North York Moors, Dalby Forest and the coastal villages along this stretch of North Yorkshire's stunning Heritage Coast.

The house suits up to six guests with two king rooms and one twin.

Downstairs there’s a light-filled open plan kitchen and dining space for slow breakfasts and cooking with fantastic local produce and a warm and inviting living room for relaxing after a day out. The living room has a smart TV, Bluetooth speaker and a selection of board games. Upstairs, the bedrooms are spread across two floors, with sea and abbey views from the top level.

You can easily spend a week here mixing days in Whitby with trips to Sandsend, Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes, walks on the Cleveland Way, steam railway outings into the moors, or forest days in Dalby. If you need to blend work and holiday, there’s fast Wi-Fi throughout and a dedicated workspace on the top floor.

A travel cot, baby bath, high chair, children’s cutlery, toys and books are available on request. One small to medium dog is also welcome, with bed and bowls provided if needed. Free on-street parking and self check-in make arrivals simple too.

Sea Rocket is close to everything without the noise of the crowds. The Co-op and town centre are around 5–10 minutes on foot, Whitby beach is about a 10-minute walk, and the station is close by for easy arrivals and day trips.
