As I rented a bike in Bayonne, I arrived at the rental on a bike - unannounced- and was allowed most generously to use the yard and garden as a resting place. Close to excellent coffee shops, the coast and surf schools. Hostess is pleasant, efficient and easy to deal with in either English or French.
This was my fault as I misunderstood the booking process and the deposit feature (which is not as scary as it sounds). Thus I arrived without having made proper contact which left me with some anxiety about having actually completed the rental. A phone call quickly settled my self-inflicted problems and rest went very smoothly.
