Stayed here for a couple of weeks in August and recently came back in mid Sep. Was delightfully surprised to find refreshing upgrades and changes. Toilets are now renovated, with much better cleanliness, no more urine stench, no water leaking or clogging. Perfect. Bin in the toilets are upgraded plus one placed in every room. Magnetic insect netting doors were added on 3rd and 4th floor to prevent mozzies and bugs from entering. Movie night is finally possible on the projector screen, yay! Kitchen is now alot cleaner too, with a labelling system in place for use of the fridge. Extended my stay upon seeing the improvements. Only thing that can be further improved: WiFi is too weak most of the time in the private rooms. All in all, it's a great place to stay!

I have been travelling SEA for 3 months, never left a bad review, I’m an Aussie that’s very laid back and understand that hostels aren’t always delightful but I left this place genuinely upset. Our bed curtain was beyond broken with bright fluorescent light coming the window in front. I asked front desk if we can sleep in the bed next to us as 2/8 of the beds were occupied plus none of the other beds curtains were broken like ours. I got told a blunt no with no reasoning and was brushed off when I tried to ask why, I felt embarrassed and disrespected, I asked to speak with someone else and was told no as it was 8pm. Whilst I’m here I may as well tell of the other things that didn’t go well here. There was a man speaking very loudly on FaceTime in the reception area, at first thought it was funny and I couldn’t have cared less about someone being loud it’s a hostel then it turned into a VERY personal conversation that would make any woman uncomfortable, turns out this man works at the hostel, fabulous! I have video evidence plus the guy at the desk could hear very clearly the conversation that was going on. The Bed has plastic tarp underneath the mattress, incredibly uncomfortable, noisy and will make you sweat as the AC is too high on the ceiling to make any difference to the beds. Yes this hostel is cheap and maybe I got what I paid for but it’s disappointing as this place has a lovely design with soo much potential.
