The host was really lovely, and the apartment itself was in great condition - very spacious and in a quiet area (despite the view of the airport). They were very kind to let us check out later and had plenty of parking space as well as welcomed us with some Madeirean specialities and wine!

You certainly need a car for the location and the drive in is a bit tricky. The neighbours also have some dogs who bark a bit aggressively anytime you enter the flat - so if you’re nervous about dogs, I would probably not recommend this location. As it’s quite close to a field we had issues with cockroaches appearing in our rooms whenever doors were not closed quickly enough. This did not bother us and the host ensured to warn us of this beforehand, but would probably also be something to consider. It would be a great addition to have bug screens for the windows!
