Nice and clean apartment. Double bed in bedroom and sleeping sofa for two in the living area/kitchen. Great value.

The equipment in the kitchen was quite minimal (one pot, one pan) and the shower was quite cold (~20C, which seems to be uncommon according to the owner). Without curtains the living room was bright and we woke up early...

Very clean. Amazing hosting. Easy access to the property.

5th floor,difficult for older people to climb up the stairs.

The only positive thing about the apartment is its location. At check-in we couldn’t get into the apartment: there was no message in the Booking profile with the code for the entrance and the key box. The host didn’t answer calls or messages, and we had to wait outside for two hours. Later it turned out that the code had been sent to my foreign phone number, which didn’t work in Latvia. The host could have noticed that the message wasn’t read and resent it through Booking, or at least been available during check-in hours. In the evening we discovered there was no hot water. The host herself wasn’t aware that the whole building had been without hot water for several days. The apartment had only one 3-liter pot, no basins, buckets, or dippers. We had to boil water in the kettle and pot and wash ourselves and three children that way.

This went on for two more days until a boiler was installed. But it was too small: hot water ran out quickly, and we had to wait for it to heat up again. In the bathroom there was another inconvenience: the shower was not fixed to the wall, so it had to be held in the hand all the time, which was very uncomfortable. Before the boiler was installed, the host suggested we could come to her house to shower, but there was a problem: she lives outside the city, we don’t have a car, and we always returned home late. In the end, the only “compensation” was half a kilo of strawberries. The household appliances were no better. The vacuum cleaner was so old and broken that the sand came back out, so we had to sweep with a broom. The washing machine was also ancient, with no instructions and confusing programs. The shortest cycle lasted more than two hours, the rest over four. During our stay I managed only twice to run it so that the dryer worked, but even then the clothes came out hot but damp. There was no place to hang or dry clothes in the apartment.Laundry detergent was missing at check-in – the host brought it only the next day. The kitchen was poorly equipped: one small frying pan, one 3-liter pot, no bowls, salad bowls, cutting board, or large knives. No salt, no sugar. There was only a sugar bowl with dried sugar remnants, hinting that sugar had once been there. The oven was dirty. The bedroom had a huge window with no curtains or blinds, so neighbors could see directly inside, and it was impossible to sleep in the morning as the sun shone in from 6 a.m. Please fix the power sockets – they are loose and coming off the wall. And please repair the lock under the table, which I caught myself on and got scratched.
