Uncle Pippi's house is a charming studio apartment in the historic center of Spongano, 5km from Castro Marina. On the ground floor of a larger building, it shares the main entrance and courtyard with two other apartments, one next door and the other on the upper floor.
Embellished with Lecce stone flooring and the typical "star" vault, a typical construction of Salento, which makes the room larger and more airy, and with thick tuff walls that make the air cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
Located in the central Via Roma, where the paving stones alternate with the tuff of the houses. The two main squares of the town are just a stone's throw away. It is said that Uncle Pippi, the old inhabitant of the house, was the custodian of the majestic palace of Baron Filippo Bacile di Castiglione, located right in front of our house, with a lush garden inside, an ancient library and an underground oil mill that can be visited.
