Our stay in Hanok Mokhwa was amazing. The place is just a few steps away from good food spots as well as major bus stops. The place is also really charming.
On our first day, the room had an issue because the previous guest had clogged the toilet and needed to be repaired by professional plumbers. However, the owner was really kind to have waited for us and booked another place for us so we can have a good stay. She personally apologized for us and made sure we were comfortable. She also spoke english very well but we clicked when we were able to converse in Korean. I highly recommend this place if you want a good stay in Gyeongju.

I travel every month, I stay minimum 25 m2 as I become claustrophobic in a small space. I saw a room it was extremely small so I measured the room corner to corner, it was 2.8 m by 2.8 m, which gives 7.8 m2. ( pls see the photo attachment) the shower & toilet was 1 m by 2.8 m. So total space is less than 11 m2. As I reserved a room of 23 m2, I contacted owner, her response was “ what's the problem? I didn't know the exact size.” and “ what the hell are you looking at to talk about?” Pls see the image attached. I realized the lady is a teouble so I just stayed one night and left early in the morning. To a different hotel. I contacted Agoda to discuss the issue.
I had very positive experience with Koreans, Thai is the first time I encountered such person. Perhaps she is an immigrant 🤪

Owner is friendly and warm. Housekeeping provided every 2 days. Location convenient - near main shopping and food street (Hwangnidan-gil Street) and key historical and cultural attractions eg. Daereungwon Tomb Complex. Contains a small sitting area outside room for quiet relaxation.
