Lunara Forest Hideaway Pyrgos Skopelos

Alloggio immerso nel verde, silenzioso, tranquillo. L'esterno è incantevole. Il proprietario è gentile e cordiale. Il letto è molto comodo. Adatto per chi ama il silenzio e la natura. La posizione permette di raggiungere velocemente le spiagge più belle (Panormos, Milia, Kastani).

Decisamente è una sistemazione più adatta a chi si muove in auto, non in moto. Quattro taxi si sono rifiutati di accompagnarci perchè l'ultimo tratto di strada è uno sterrato pieno di grossi ciottoli, per giunta con curve a gomito strette e senza protezione. Alla fine un taxi ci ha lasciato sulla strada principale e abbiamo dovuto caricare i trolley con gli scooter, per centinaia di metri. Noi siamo motociclisti esperti, sapevamo come muoverci anche in quelle condizioni, ma con una strada così mal messa si rischia di danneggiare lo scooter affittato e dover pagare i danni. La strada per Skopelos Town si percorre in circa mezz'ora, ma di notte non è illuminata e ci sono animali selvatici, molto pericolosa (abbiamo incontrato dei maiali con i cuccioli a bordo strada). Per questi motivi, dopo qualche giorno abbiamo deciso a malincuore di lasciare l'alloggio e abbiamo dovuto prenderne un altro in città, affrontando una spesa ulteriore. Il wi-fi aveva pochissimo segnale, non abbiamo potuto usarlo. Anche i cellulari prendevano poco e la TV era inutilizzabile, mancando il wi-fi. Il monolocale è molto piccolo, manca un armadio, c'è solo un piccolo attaccapanni a giorno con cassetti di cartone. Avevamo le valigie con tutti i vestiti una a terra e una sul minuscolo tavolino, dovevamo fare colazione seduti sul letto, pochissimo spazio per muoversi. Nei dintorni non c'è nulla, anche per comprare una bottiglia d'acqua bisogna andare in città, a mezz'ora di strada.

Without doubt the whole purpose of this property was the location, which was truly amazing, perched on the edge of a thickly wooded hill with views across the valley. Tranquillity, peace and nature. The host was cleaning when we arrived a little early. She was welcoming and friendly.

The property had not been equipped from the viewpoint of prospective guests. For example, given the amazing view, there was nowhere comfortable to sit. The only place available to lounge was on the bed inside. When we asked for something more comfortable we were told it was not available. There was nowhere to put a suitcase without moving furniture which revealed incomplete cleaning. There were only two plates, bowls and sets of cutlery. No cooking dishes, only one pan and one saucepan. Totally insufficient to self cater. With nowhere nearby to buy food or eat out some self-catering is essential, There was insufficient workspace to prepare and cook. When we put two appliances on at the same time the electrics tripped and we had to wait for the host to explain how to get into the locked, unoccupied room adjacent to ours to put the electricity back on. It seemed as if there was the least possible amount of everything and what there was, was poor quality. The uncomfortable bed had a plastic under-sheet which crackled whenever one moved. The outside fake grass was littered with glass and stones and the path had spilled food (or vomit) never cleaned up. We were told we could use the barbeque upstairs on the terrace (the roof of the property) but it was so filthy as to be unusable. Finally the main picture is not of the property but the owner's property above, which we think is unoccupied. A little dishonest. Such a shame for such an amazing location and such nice people.
