Boat access is available at the harbor (slipway), and storage space is provided on the property. Hiking and biking trails (suitable for inline skaters) are well-developed and run along the Baltic Sea bay (European Circular Hiking Trail). Horseback riding and bike rentals are available at the youth hostel near Glöwitz (2 km); affordable horseback riding options are available in Barth-Planitz, which has a new indoor riding arena.
Shopping options are available right in Barth, with numerous supermarkets (on the bypass).
There is a DLRG-supervised swimming area in Glöwitz.
Water sports equipment can be rented at the local water sports center (which features a surf, kite, and sailing school).
From the pier at the harbor, you can access the shallow water (great surfing and kitesurfing conditions!).
The fine-sand beaches of Zingst are about 20 minutes away. There you’ll also find a wide range of recreational activities (e.g., go-kart rentals, the Zingst narrow-gauge railway, fishing trips, boat trips to Hiddensee Island, Bodden tours, horse-drawn carriage rides, ...).
In Stralsund (30 km), the Hanse Dom water park and the Maritime Museum are highly recommended.
