204 Ashantilly Avenue is a dog-friendly St. Simons Island vacation rental that gets the part after the beach right. The outdoor shower is beside the raised deck. The washer is just inside. The gas grill sits off the kitchen door, and string lights keep dinner outside after daylight gives out. Sand, towels and dinner all have somewhere obvious to go.
Inside, there are books on the built-in shelves, blue dishes in the old dining hutch and furniture that does not look like it arrived on one truck. Hardwood floors connect the living and dining rooms. The kitchen is compact, with a gas range and a back door pointed directly toward the grill. The window-lined sunroom lands somewhere between a reading room and a porch.
Pier Village and Neptune Park beach are 18 minutes away on foot. Ashantilly is at its best when you come back sandy.

Upon arrival, I found a charming little beach cottage that was homey, clean, and charming. When I walked down the front door, I found a light, bright, and airy space to hang out for the week. Going out to the back yard I saw little cottage-style screen door to a quaint little covered porch with a bright swing and little white lights to plug-in. I use the outside shower almost every day after going to the beach. I slept good every night. I had everything I needed. SSI is a magical place to spend some down time. Pier village was a bonus! So much fun! Thank you!

The house was a great location! We rented a golf cart so that is how we got around the Island.

Needs some TLC. There were some maintenance issues. But the deck, outdoor shower and back yard were great. Location is good in a cute neighborhood.
