128 - Comfy 2 Bed Apt with Parking - Sleeps 6

It is hard to rate this as I cannot tell if I'm rating it alone, or based against the other four places we've stayed on our trip. I believe it is fair to say this is based on the facility itself. This place is close to the city centre in Galway, less than a 10 min drive in moderately heavy traffic. It is a nice neighborhood and had a nice amount of room. There is also a Dunnes (grocery/general shopping) a block away, so it is within walking distance. This is a great location to see many sights on the west side of Ireland, and for a family of four or five, comfortable. We did have an issue during our stay, and the host was responsive in having it addressed.

As I said, we have stayed in several locations on our trip. This was the only one in which walking barefoot we had to go back and put on socks, as the floor had dirt/grit. I mentioned that we had an issue. The issue was with the toilet, and upon advising the host that it was not flushing properly, they said they would have maintenance come look at it the following day. Thankfully, there was a bucket available, and pouring water from that into the toilet allowed/forced the bowl to empty. Otherwise, things might have been a little rough having to wait. That said, I appreciate the host having the issue addressed, however, it should have been more timely, as there was only one bathroom. As for the maintenance personnel, well, let's just say their work was lacking. Their job was only about half complete, as the toilet only flushed properly about half the time after they "fixed" it.

Clean and quiet

Good location with convenient parking, clean and tidy, quick answers from host.

We have to think hard to find any drawbacks, but ok: One of the single beds is a bit springy and the kitchen chairs would benefit from furniture pads to decrease scraping noise.

I really liked the location of the apartment — it was only a 15–20 minute walk from the city center and several grocery stores just a 5 minute walk away. There was a free parking spot right in front of the building, which was very convenient. The apartment itself was spacious and had all the amenities we needed.

The bathroom air conditioning and water heater were very loud, and the room doors were quite heavy and made a lot of noise. This could be a bit uncomfortable for light sleepers.
