Valemount Hotel

This property changed ownership, and one person was on staff, he was helpful, but the property as a whole was in need of much help. No prpoer check in area, have to phone a number to check in. The 1st room we got had a used mattress standing up agaunst a wall, which we asked to be removed, then no hot water working in shower/bathtub. He did switch us to a better room with hot water working. Lots of things in hallways, ie fridges, shelves, cleaning carts. Difficult to contact staff for basic needs like more toilet paper. One person only on site, not always in the office, meaning you have to call his phone even if you need something right away. Not a professional set up. No face cloths provided which are a standard in Canadian Hotel industry. Price way too high considering standard of property and lack of professionalism. Definitely felt the manager/only employee although very pleasant and helpful was not qualified or fully understood level.of hotel responsibility and service . This would come down to the responsibility of the new owner to understand Canadian Hotel and hire qualifued and exoerienced employees. I worked in the Canadain hospitality industry for many years and would rate this an overall star and not recommend it. I felt sorry for what the employee was left on his own to deal with.
