I loved the view and the uncomplicated process of checking in and out. I also love how responsive the landlord is.

I didn’t like that there was no WiFi and that there wasn’t smart TVs to stream movies, but I can overlook that.

Great location within walking distance to everything beach

All was good until 30 mins after we checked in. The “security” lady stayed on us from then, until we avoided her as much as possible the next day and a half. She would stand by the pool and look up at myself and my son and do the two fingers from her eyes to us, saying I’m watching you. We would try to go to the beach, she would approach, ask what we were doing, then proceed to tell us what we should or shouldn’t be doing. We got in the pool only once, because she was approaching people, intruding in their family time, as she did us, ruining people on their family time, lurking and taking pictures. At one point she said to me and my son, where are you from, you need to know the beach better before coming here. I saved and planned for a long time to take my first trip to Gulf Shores, and she made my stay there extremely uncomfortable. For her, and her alone, I will never book another stay at Island Winds East.
