Golden Palm Resort

There is nothing wrong with the caravan itself, it was clean and tidy but I chose not to stay for reasons the owner has no control over. The caravan is located out of the way but unfortunately we had others nearby playing loud booming music. When I arrived at reception, stepped out of the car the smell of illegal substances was over powering and a rather loud family screaming and whacking their child set the scene. It was a mistake staying in Chapel that I won't be make again. I did get my £20 deposit back, cash in post, for the return of keys. The women I handed the keys too were very rude and patronising in the out of hours area because the reception at that time was closed (after 5pm). If you have kids and can put up with rowdy riff raff types of folk then Chapel would be OK but for me personally I don't want that type of place to get away. I explained to the owner that it was totally my fault for booking in the first place I should have thought it through better but was just looking for a quiet relaxing night before travelling home.

The matress could do with changing for a new one and whilst I understand that it is basic to take own things, something to dry a cup with would be handy upon arriving. I think we were very spoilt with the previous accommodation in another area and you get what you pay for.

Caravan was a good size and decorated nicely.

Broken lights and electrics in main bedroom and hallway and broken fridge. The main light in the bedroom didn't work, the smaller lights flickered and then went off completely as did the lamp. The hallway light didn't work at all either. We had to wait in one morning (losing half a day's holiday) for an electrician who turned out to be a maintenance guy, he said there was a fault with the main electrics so an actual electrician would need to attend which wasn't arranged during our stay, so we had no lights and electrics in the room, causing issues for my disabled parents who were staying in that room they were also worried about safety with it being an electric fault. All our food went bad due to the fridge door not closing due to rust all along the bottom of the fridge. This caused a large inconvenience as my daughter is autistic and will only eat certain foods which I had brought with us but they went off after a day so we had to throw everything. Due to this we also had to eat out most meal times costing a lot more than we would have spent originally. I would have also like to have known the location as it is situated at the very far side of the site, furthest away from all the amenities, clubhouse, restaurants etc which again caused an inconvenience for my disabled parents as it's quite a walk even with the shortcut/path. That could have been an oversight on my part but I dont recall seeing anywhere that said the caravan was so far away from everything. It's a shame as the caravan itself aside from the issues is a lovely van, a little wear and tear but the rooms are a good size and it was clean and nicely decorated. I'm still waiting to hear back from the host about a partial refund due to all the issues.

Very clean caravan, quiet location away from the hustle and bustle, beds comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure! Host responsive on messages and provided a fan in the bedroom which came in really handy!

The caravan smelt really fusty as though nobody had stayed there for a long time. The hallway light doesn't work and the lights in main bedroom flicker. The kitchen facilities were ok but would have been nice to have at least a tea towel provided. The most disappointing thing is that the sofas were so uncomfortable. It was impossible to relax and get comfortable on them. Luckily, we only had 2 nights booked so we could get by but definitely couldn't have stayed any longer.

Lovely, clean caravan. Nice seating area outside. We arrived on a particularly hot day and a fan had been left on in the bedroom which was a nice and very much needed touch. Thank you
