#702: Trout Hill Condo at Fall Creek Falls

It was in remote area and we had to drive 30 miles to buy groceries. Then was missing basics like extra paper towels. Dishwasher was broken. Nice unit comfortable, though road to it was gravel. Not many restaurants so we grilled out every night and had to buy everything. Was not expecting it to be so isolated. Fall Creek Falls area was good drive away. The roads were very narrow and winding with lots of switch backs, not used to that at all. Beautiful area in mountains.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed for 3 nights in September 2014. Unit was in excellent condition, and had no trouble with the tv or wifi. The stove was a little challenging, as it was missing 2 of the knobs to work the burners. Beautiful modern kitchen, but there were a few inconveniences. No toaster, only small 4 cup coffee pot, only 1 dish towel. Also would have preferred access to W/D for a unit at this price point. Limited bath towels and washcloths for 3 night stay with no W/D as well. The weather was hot and muggy but the pool was still too cold for swimming... to the point of being icy and uncomfortable. The lake was much warmer than the pool. My husband was there for the fishing. We caught numerous blue gill and he caught several 1-2lb bass, he never found the big ones. Our kids loved the playgrounds and the lakeside areas. The pavilions were very clean and spacious. The roads are all gravel and we were fine in our minivan. A compact car would be challenging in this setting. Overall a nice trip and would consider again.

Pros: good location; nice building with large rooms; ample bathrooms Cons: huge sign and caution tape stating “no condo renters allowed at lakes docks pools “. So you and your family members can not use the amenities which they show pictures of. Which is false advertising; upon arrival there was no paper with the wifi password. No cell reception. No house phone. No way to call in case there is an emergency. No way to contact the property manager; standing water in dishwasher and would not drain; TV required an app to be downloaded to use, impossible with no cell reception and no wifi password. Wifi password was in email, however, zero cell reception; all counters had a layer of dust; old popcorn was all under the couch and in the couch cushions; no oven mitts; only 2 kitchen towels; no car hang tags even though they explicitly state we need them or we get towed; Being lied to about the amenities is a huge issue. Especially when you have 3 children who were told they can swim. I work in the rental industry and the cleanliness was subpar. They also state AFTER you have paid for the room, that they will not refund for any reason to include the amenities not being available.
