About this cabin rental
New modern rustic cabin that backs up to Grayson Highlands State Park. Be prepared for stargazing and cool refreshing nights. Minutes from Grayson Highlands State Park and the Creeper Trail. All the modern conveniences in a rural setting.
The cabin is a traditional full dovetail Appalachian cabin constructed of white pine. The cabin is around 600 ft.² with a full bathroom, full kitchen/dining area, loft bedroom area. The structure has a covered vaulted front porch and rear porch. There are many amenities to make the guest feel more at home Including towels, linens for the beds, soap/shampoo, cooking utensils, pots/pans and anything else you would need for cooking a good meal. We have a Weber kettle grill on the back porch for grilling out as well. In addition, we provide complementary coffee and a bundle of firewood for the outdoor pit.
The cabin is located in a beautiful spot at approximately 4000 feet elevation. Due to the elevation, temperatures are typically much cooler than the surrounding areas. It is recommended to bring a jacket even in the warmer months. Due to the close proximity to Grayson Highlands State Park, you may occasionally see a wild pony wondering to the property. There’s bountiful wildlife around the property including deer, turkey, many bird species and the occasional bear.
The road to the cabin is a state maintained gravel road. Although a 2wd car/truck will work fine, we recommend a 4wd if possible due to the steep nature of the road. The Virginia Department of transportation (VDOT) does a fantastic job of keeping the access to the cabin in good shape.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Anders Cabin. It is such a special little place in a very quiet, peaceful setting. It is a steep road up, but we had no difficulty with our CRV. The cabin was super clean and very comfortable. The whole property was impeccable. We appreciated the coffee and the well stocked kitchen and linens. Communication from Jon was very helpful. After long days of hiking at Grayson Highlands, the big tub and comfortable beds were a welcome way to end our days. We also enjoyed a fire on the patio and some star gazing. We were pleasantly surprised at how direct it was to get to Grayson Highlands as well. This is a place we would definitely like to visit again!

The cabin was perfect for me. The property was so pretty. It was so quiet and relaxing. I saw deer, heard turkeys, saw rabbits, and chipmunks. The kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. I appreciated the tub after all the hiking I did. And so close to Grayson Highlands State Park. They also had pamphlets about all the things to do in the area.They also were very helpful to my partner when he reached out to them because he hadn’t heard from me. It was reassuring to know that.

Family friendly. Very clean. A true shower rather than bath with handheld would be an improvement. So glad we arrived in the daytime as it would have been a bit confusing to get to at night. Overall lovely one night stop!
