The Konnarock Homestead is located in the heart of The Jefferson National Forest. Guests can easily visit three beautiful recreation areas (including the two highest peaks in Virgina): Grayson Highlands State Park, Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, and Whitetop Mountain. The area provides many beautiful and exciting experiences such as biking the Creeper Trail, hiking the AT, many other trails, and much more! Our pottery shop is located within walking distance to the Homestead if you would like to explore local artisans and there is also a fire pit to enjoy during the night in the Appalachian Mountains!
**Since Hurricane Helene devastated our region, the Creeper Trail is unfortunately inaccessible from Whitetop to Damascus. However, the 17 miles from Damascus to Abingdon is undamaged and is available to ride or hike. Konnarock Homestead offered all the comforts of home. The house was clean and well stocked with anythjng guests may need. The property has beautiful views of Whitetop Mountain. It was so relaxing to sit on the porch and listen to the creek while enjoying the peaceful serenity of the Homestead. This location offers a special treat of a pottery shop just a short walk to the top of the driveway. The owner of Grim Pottery, Debbie, is a delight to talk to and she is a wealth of knowledge about the area and local attractions. We hope to stay here again when visiting the area.

This was just the perfect stay for our trip to the Blue Ridge Discovery Center event. The home was well provisioned, very clean, and the hosts were communicative and responsive to all our questions. We will definitely be back!!!!
