Great hotel. Facilities and location is excellent. Staff were very friendly but would only give one hotel card for 3 people stay. They wanted extra euros to have just two room cards!

One of the staff was an old lady she was very rude and not helpful at all. First, we had a problem with the AC. Then, for the cleaning, I called around 6 pm. Why did no one came, she said they don't clean daily!!! How is that I even stayed in boutiques and they cleaned daily and Mara is supposed to be a 4-star hotel, the breakfast was below average. There is no noise isolation in the rooms we woke up at 8 am every day because we could hear the elevator bell and when someone opens their door literally everything.… if other hotels were not full we wouldn't have stayed for a day

The location is excellent, and the rooftop is beautiful with a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the rooms were disappointing. They were not clean, there was always an unpleasant smell, and the bathroom had no exhaust fan, which made it worse. We also noticed small insects in the room, and the sound insulation was poor, so it was easy to hear noise from neighboring rooms. Overall, its location and rooftop, but the rooms need significant improvements.

Currently travelling across Turkey, at the time of writing, this is one of six hotels in Turkey we have stayed in and the standards of this hotel fall far below the others. To start with the positives: 1) The staff are pleasant enough and do try to assist where possible. 2) The hotel is aesthetically pleasing. 3) The view from the pool of the port is lovely. Now the reason for the 2 star review: 1) Check in: 2pm - to any logical person this should mean you are be able to check in at 2pm, however upon arrival we was advised this meant check in was from 2pm and does not mean the room will be ready for 2pm. We were eventually checked in close to 3pm. This is not acceptable if stated check in is 2pm, the room should be ready for 2pm, if you are not able to meet check in time then the time should be updated to a time you can meet. 2) When we entered the room assigned to us, after supposedly being cleaned and waiting an extra hour, we entered a room with a foul smell. 3) Further inspection of the bed found that the bedsheets were still dirty, which were then replaced upon request. 4) Then when deciding to shower we found the shampoo/shower gel to be completely empty and therefore can only assume the proper checks where not carried when cleaning the room as this should have been replaced before our arrival. 5) Following this we found out the A/C was not working in our room, which meant we had to sleep with our patio door open to stay cool while hearing the sound of the noisy street below. 6) Despite the hotel claiming to be non smoking we could constantly smell smoke in our room which one can only assume was coming from the vents, neither me or my partner smoke and this horrible smell of smoke was not okay. 7) In the middle of our last night we were awoken to the sound of water droplets hitting our bedroom floor. Following the last point we were eventually moved to a different room on a different floor, this room did actually smell fresh, had clean sheets and a working A/C. Therefore your stay at this hotel may very well depend upon the room you are given because based on the first room we stayed in we would never stay here again however had we stayed in the second room from the start our opinion may have been different.
