Clean, secure/safe, easy to find, comfortable beds, responsive host. Can walk to Hotel Gema, which has beautiful gardens, bird feeders, and provides local tours -- including a short walk from the cabin to see quetzals (not guaranteed).

As experienced full-time travelers, we found this property fell short of standard expectations. Our 3-night stay was impacted by several maintenance and design flaws: Noise: There is an active woodpecker nest inside the wall next to the bed; scratching is audible throughout the night. Additionally, a rooster next door begins crowing before dawn. Repairs should be made to fix the 2 external holes (see picture). Safety: The staircase is hazardous due to uneven step heights, a triangular landing, and low overhead beams. The area was also unlit due to a missing bulb. There were no candles or flashlights when the power went out. Also, there is no way to cook or heat water if you lose power, because everything is electric. Bedroom Layout: The room contains two queen beds with high headboards shoved against walls with low ceilings and no nightstands. This layout blocks one side of each bed, requiring sleepers to crawl out the foot of the bed to exit. The room should be rearranged and reduced to 1 bed. Privacy: Two large bedroom windows have no curtains. Bathroom: A vented glass window lets in cold air, making the room significantly colder than the rest of the cabin. Water pressure is very low and inconsistent, resulting in only lukewarm showers and no hot water in the sink. Wifi: Sufficient for streaming, but too sluggish for calls or remote work.

De liefde voor het huisje van de eigenaar maakte dat we wat onvriendelijke welkomst teksten kregen over netjes omgaan met het huisje. Verder had wat haard aanmaak spullen fijn geweest
