Button Cottage on Gold Hill - Hovis Hill

Owners live next door so handed over the keys and gave us a quick tour of property and answered any questions we had and informed us what was available locally. Property had everything you could want or think of wanting and more. Beautifully set up, it is a small cottage but perfect for the two of us and you soon get used to using the space available effectively. We could not park on the hill on arrival but easily found a space near by and there were then spaces available later. Perfect to walk into town and lovely to be able to stay in such an iconic location.

This was my favorite stay during my entire trip in England! It is obvious that so much time, care and dedication has gone into making this house a true home. An unforgettable location, amazing host and wonderful accommodations. I would be so happy to return!

Button Cottage is the most wonderful place either of have ever stayed. It has recently been restored to bring back some of it's gorgeous original features but also added modern conveniences and comfort. Nothing was overlooked. Every detail was thought through and every comfort was catered for. It is truly just so gorgeous to look at, decorated so perfectly. If you are looking for quaint English charm, this is your place. The views are absolutely stunning. Very short walk up the hill to an excellent cafe where we ate several times and a pub just a little further up the hill where we also ate twice, excellent food. The guidebook will give you all the details you need to enjoy your time in the region. Owners were available to us for any issues we may have had (we didn't) but not in our way. We would honestly come back and are recommending to all our friends!

Everything was so well thought out and attention to detail off the scale. Little things were added. We are very discerning and this was amazing. The views were great in the back garden and not really mentioned. The town was great too. An ideal venue.

No bath but on a short stay not an issue. Log burner made up for that. So cosy.

Incredible sympathietc restoration of a quaint cottage with every modcon including fresh milk, a hamper of goodies plus soft towels and the comfiest beds. Iconic location and Shaftesbury is a lovely town to explore

The property was absolutely fantastic, I honestly couldn’t recommend enough. The cottage was perfectly situated on the famous Hovis Hill. The view from the rear of the cottage is breathtaking. The owners have literally thought of everything to ensure your stay is not only comfortable but very special too. A real home from home.
