Lovely hosts, very supportive and helpful. They arranged a daily motorbike and my onward transit (there's no bus between Meo Vac and Dong Van). They also allowed an early check-in as the Cau Me bus arrives mid-morning. Hotel looks nicely remodeled and is central. Good hot water and plenty of amenities. Bed is comfy.
Small thing, but there's a sad rooster somewhere that sounds like a drunk hound dog in its waning days around 5am. I suspect this auditory marvel will not be around forever.
You could hear this thing for blocks, so your choice of hotel isn't going to matter.
