About this cabin rental
Take a load off at Lazy Bear Cottage, a cute cabin nestled on the side of the mountain that will accommodate up to 6 guests! This privately owned two-bedroom, two-bath cabin offers stunning mountain views, central location and everything you need to call it home.
When you arrive, you will be greeted with warmth and a home full of custom furnishings, decorations and everything you may need for your perfect vacation. The inside is open and spacious will tall vaulted cathedral ceilings, plenty of windows for natural light and an open kitchen/dining/living room space in the front of the home. The living room is equipped with a queen sleeper sofa, flat screen tv with DISH satellite service and high-speed wireless internet service. The owner's suite has a king size bed and its own full bath. The secondary bedroom offers a queen size bed and its own bathroom that can be accessed from the bedroom or the hallway.
Love to entertain and cook? The fully stocked kitchen is ready for your expertise with plenty of space to easily seat your party. Outside you will find a huge wrap-around porch overlooking the woods on one side and the long-range mountain views on the other. Light up the grill or sit by the fire pit and enjoy doing a whole lot of nothing!
The cabin is just minutes from Dillsboro, Sylva and Franklin where you can find dining, over a half-dozen breweries, shopping, historic Main Street activities and festivals, rafting, hiking and so much more all within 15 or so minutes. Take a drive over to the Nantahala for some of the best whitewater rafting around, press your luck in Cherokee at the Harrahs Casino or shoot over to Maggie Valley for snow skiing in the winter, all a quick 30-35 minutes drive away! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lazy Bear. We were in Sylva for a wedding and spent a few days enjoying the area. The cabin was a perfect place to come back to each night and relax. The home is roomy, well equipped, and very clean. Having two baths with showers was very handy. It certainly made getting ready in the morning so much easier. We loved the wraparound porch and spent quite a bit of time out there. Note the East view is blocked by trees. Disappointing since I really love watching a sunrise with a cup of coffee. The mountain view is a bit obstructed as well, but you can still enjoy it from the kitchen and fire pit side of the porch. If you’re a bird lover we recorded over 15 different bird songs and chirps. Be prepared for a fun drive to and from the cabin. By the end of our stay it was just like parking at home! Overall we would stay here again. Maybe take advantage of the fire pit, outdoor chairs, and free firewood. Our hosts were very responsive and helped answer the couple questions we had regarding the cabin.

The property was very nice and pleasant and comfortable. We enjoyed the setting and the amenities. We had some trouble locating the property but eventually found it. The sign for the property was covered with foliage and vines, so we let the owner know so that it could be taken care of for the next guest. We appreciated the amount of towels that were available because some places we have stayed only furnished one towel to last several days. Overall, this was a great experience, and I recommend it for anyone who likes a quiet "get away" experience.

Very clean, beds were very comfortable, enjoyed sitting on the porch with view of mountains, kitchen was well equipped. The brochures helped us plan where to eat. Glad to have close proximity to Blue Ridge Parkway to hike and close to Dillsboro for shopping in craft and antique stores. Cabin was perfect size for a short getaway.
