BE A PART OF THE RIVER, APART FROM IT ALL!

Quiet, beautiful place with a great welcome feeling. The house is big, new, modern and old, the terasse with great view. The pool is deep, big, and with a beautiful view. The kayaks on the river make fun. Only one point of critique: you don't know that there is another house sharing pool and kayak and that you have to walk 10 minutes to the pool. I got this information only by another review. There was no problem in sharing, but it is more comfortable to announce this fact clearly in the advertisement.

We loved the property.The lemon, orsnge and other fruit trees right outside your door. The view of the lush valley from every window and balcony. The uniqueness of the house. The kindness of our host. The sparkling clean home. There is so so much to love. The pool, views and river are stunnnnnnning. Being able to kayak on the Duoro ?! Priceless. The host was SO KIND & lovely. Just very little communication prior to checkin.The house is located about 5 minutes from a town and some fantastic restaurants. Just fyi; the roads are cobbled, narrow & windy. It’s a quaint and beautiful area.The issues:The checkin process was so much harder and confusing than it needed to be, but not enough to deter us from returning (more below)The pool is not just 500m away. It is a 10 minute walk along the road (which is quiet), down a driveway and passed the hosts main place of residence. It is a completely different property than where the rental is located. During busy times the pool and water toys would be shared with 3 other homes. My suggestion would be to have a checkin section completed by the host to make it easier for both guests and host. The house number was covered by a plant, so we guessed we were in the right spot based on photos. Inside the name of the house vs the information about the house were different - so thought we had walked into someone else’s house. No where is there direction to the pool and river (which was our main pull for this part of our holiday)

Super property! Super hosts. Super location and the kayaks to borrow were an extra bonus. Wish we had stayed longer. Thank you

The property consists of 2 houses, which is not clear from the house description at all. The one house has a perfect location with view on the river and steps away from the pool and the river bank with the kayaks. The other house, in which we were staying is 10min difficult and steep walk away with no view to the river at all. The pool and kayaks are shared and not private as in the description. So, when you wanted to go to the pool or use the kayaks you had to walk hoping that it is available. The pool is really perfect and also the use of kayaks on the river makes a lot of fun. Take your fishing gears with you. We caught some nice Blackbass! The house is modern, but minimalistic. If you like to have basically nothing to hang your clothes or place your wine glass when you are sitting on the sofa, you will like it. Otherwise you have to live literally our of your suitcase and place the glass on the floor. The kitchen is the best place and equipped with all basic requirements. There are no recommendation on „What to Do“, so you have to search by yourself. We found a few really nice places to visit, but would have been useful to get this as a recommendation list. The owner is anyway very friendly and with just a better and more accurate information upfront about the different houses we would have spared from a initial disappointment. We were very disappointed at the beginning, but at the end we made the best out of it and enjoyed the stay in the Douro valley.
