About this cottage rental
This is an old typical house from Douro Valley since 1930. It has 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom. There is one bathroom in the hall. The kitchen is fully equipped and in the living room you have cable TV, free wifi and a double sofa bed. Outside you'll find lots of space upstairs (with a big garden and a terrace) and downstairs you'll find the pool, a table and barbecue for some family / friends moments with an outside bathroom. The cave was a cafe and the place where our family made our wine. Right now we have another kitchen there, a dinning room and one more living room where you can relax.

Overall we were pleased with the object and the stay. The swimming pool was really pleasant and the shady terrace was gorgeous.
The house is on two floors with no internal communication. The lower floor has no sleeping rooms and although the kitchen was nicer and had a dishwasher we ended up not using the lower floor at all.
Although the terrace has a beautiful view, it doesn't have a direct view of the Douro river.
But overall nice and cosy and since we were just a party of two it was not a problem that the house is not so big.
Overall four stars are OK.

We received fantastic directions to this serene house nestled in the hills near the Douro River. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owners, who took pride in showcasing their beautiful home. The well-equipped kitchen became our hub for preparing both hearty breakfasts and delightful dinners. The wood stove in the living room added a touch of warmth to our evenings, creating an inviting ambiance.
For added comfort, portable radiators were thoughtfully placed in every room. We even had the pleasure of using fresh lemons from the property for our dinners and indulging in freshly squeezed orange juice each morning. The views from the house were nothing short of spectacular, offering a picturesque glimpse of the mountainside.
And let’s not forget the spacious showers—a delightful surprise that enhanced our stay. Moreover, the nearby stores and restaurants proved to be incredibly convenient and well-stocked, providing everything we needed. The friendly service from the locals made our experience even more enjoyable.
Our trip was truly memorable, and when we return to Portugal, this tranquil spot will be our first choice. Highly recommended!"

Highly recommend! Perfect for a 3 day stay as a couple with the 8 yo son and the dog, with space for more. Both had plenty of space to play. The pool area is very comfortable with a lovely view which is lovelier even from the balcony. The water temperature was perfect, when normally properties in the Douro have the water too cold.
Ines and Fatima are super hosts, very communicative and accommodating allowing us to check in earlier and check out late given no one was checking in after us. House was clean and we were received with a “Porto de honra” and a bowl of local plums. Very nice touch :) restaurants nearby were very good as well.
Areas of improvement were minor - Balcony tables could’ve been cleaned before our arrival (just a little dusty) and the grass cut in the pool area (which was a little tall). As the house has no A/C the rooms were very hot at night given the 30C+ during the day. We had 1 fan which helped cool the air but 1 fan per room would be needed for full comfort at night.
