Spend a few peaceful days at North Shore Retreat and you'll understand why we say, “Inspiration Lives Here.” Whether you're writing, painting, birdwatching, spending time with family, or just getting away from it all, we're confident you'll find yourself refreshed and inspired by the natural beauty of the northern shore of Lake Michigan and the comfortable surroundings of this home located on the waterfront in the south-central Upper Peninsula region.

North Shore Retreat offers stunning views of the waterfront right from the bed and fall asleep gazing at the stars through the two overhead skylights.
The fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room offer fabulous views beyond the slightly sloped yard to the vast Lake Michigan waters. You'll feel like you're at the ocean – but without the sharks! Watch the ships far out on the horizon or watch the birds and wildlife right up close in the yard. Brew your morning coffee in our Flex brew coffee maker (by the pot or single K-cup) or visit one of the excellent coffee shops in downtown Manistique.

This was an amazing location - very secluded on a clean sand beach just 10 minutes from town. The owners have lovingly developed a quiet bench next to a small waterfall on the creek running through their property along with a great fire pit and seating on the beach. So many thoughtful details outside and inside - absolutely everything you would need plus games, books, painting supplies. We spent hours reading in the small room facing the lake or on the beach. Easy drive to Pictured Rocks or Escanaba or Fayette Historical Village and close to the Kitch-Iti-Kipi springs. The management company was very responsive and the house was immaculate. Hope to stay again!

This is our second time staying here and absolutely love it. We love looking out at the lake from what we call the cedar room. A small room great for reading, relaxing and looking out at the lake. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home.

Loved the whole experience, only downside is the unit needs AC the cool lake breezes only work if the wind is in the south.
