About this house rental

Situated in rolling hills covered with lush forests as well as pastureland with stunning views, this 4 bedroom/3 bathroom home is the perfect location for intimate weddings, reunions, retreats or vacations. Enjoy the excellent wineries of northwestern North Carolina. Dozens of wineries are within 30 minutes, several within 15 minutes. The newly revived Wilkesboro Speedway is about 8 miles away. The Blue Ridge Mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway are only 45 minutes away. Wilkesboro’s Merlefest is just 13 miles away. Charlotte is one hour south. There is so much to see and do in the beautiful Appalachian foothills.
This incredibly tranquil spot will feed your soul. You can awaken to the rising sun from the front of the home and sit around the firetable as you watch glorious sunsets from the back. The main house of this 4,300 sq. ft. home is two stories with two bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen bed which share a Jack-n-Jill bathroom with a tub/shower. The main bedroom on the ground floor has a king-sized bed, fireplace, and a beautiful en suite with large walk-in shower and free-standing tub. The ground floor guestroom has a queen bed and is adjacent to the third bathroom with walk-in shower. Both ground floor bedrooms have French doors opening to the covered wrap-around porch.
The fully equipped chef’s kitchen is in the open concept greatroom. It has a 10-foot granite topped island with a 5-burner cooktop and seating for 4. The adjacent laundry/pantry has an additional freezer and a refrigerator. The great room has vaulted, beamed ceilings, an entire wall of windows overlooking wooded hills, a fireplace, large sitting area and a dining table to seat 4-6. There is a queen-sized sofa bed for extra sleeping capacity. The large dining room with seating for 10+ has a beautiful, coffered ceiling, fireplace, a wall of windows and French doors opening to the large, covered porch overlooking the patio.
Please note that this property is in a rural area and I recommend you bring at least a few days of groceries with you. Grocery stores are several miles away. There is a combination regular drip/Keurig coffee maker with a few pods, etc. to get you started.
I have a good friend who lives in the apartment behind the garage. The apartment and garage are a separate building, connected to the house by a veranda.
Also, while I have wi-fi available to you, it is satellite and has limited data capacity. Not enough for gaming or many movies. Please bring your own hotspot.

Beautiful home and gorgeous views

It was an extreme pleasure to stay at this house. I held my wedding there and it was a perfect venue for a small wedding. The house is gorgeous and spacious. Jeanette was so helpful in assuring everything would go smoothly the day of the wedding. I love this house, we plan on visiting frequently.

This stay was incredible. The host and property manager were so very nice and helpful. My husband and I had our small elopement wedding here, and any questions we had or anything we needed was answered with quickness or offered to help in anyway. We will most definitely return just the two of us for an anniversary getaway. Beautiful location, beautiful home, incredible people. Thank you so much!

We stayed here for our wedding, and the views and location were beautiful — exactly what we hoped for. However, a major issue quickly put a damper on the experience. When we pulled in, we noticed another vehicle at the house. Later that evening, we saw a TV on in a room behind the garage. Concerned, we immediately reached out to the property manager to ask if someone else was supposed to be staying there. The response was: “Yes the apartment has a full time renter. You won’t see him but in passing. His name is Davie. Very nice guy.”There was no mention in the listing of a full-time renter onsite. The home was advertised as a private, tranquil space — which was a key reason we chose it for such an important event. Instead, the walkway to the side of the house doubles as the renter’s entrance, and the kitchen has large windows and a full glass door with no blinds. It was incredibly uncomfortable trying to prepare meals while a stranger could (and did) walk directly past the windows. The home also needs some upkeep. The kitchen sink faucet began leaking into the cabinet and onto the floor, making the sink and dishwasher unusable for most of our stay. There were cobwebs, owners’ clothes left in the dressers (so we couldn’t unpack during a 5-day stay), several closets were locked so we couldn’t hang up wedding attire, and some wall sockets appeared unsafe.House had great potential if the owner had been transparent about the renter and did basic maintenance.
