Charming house in Limousin

Gerard could not have done more to help, after Lilian let us in and showed us round with virtually no English and us with limited French. The village is delightful and the location was perfect, with an excellent restaurant a walk away at the bottom of the hill, overlooking a lake and run by an English lady and her American partner. They had 72 covers, including outside, on the night before we went there to eat, and about 40 on a night when we almost decided to risk not booking, but as the rain was pouring down I doubt we'd have got in.

We arrived to be welcomed by Lilyanne and Gerard who was so lovely and helpful . Offered to help carry bags in . They had limited English but between my limited French aswell they explained everything we needed to know . We had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay . Throughout our stay they were next door so if we needed anything were available. They changed towels and sheets during our stay and took away our rubbish . On arrival there was some beer wine and water in the fridge which was very kind . Plus coffee pods and some essentials . The cottage was beautifully decorated and the shower was fabulous. There were the original wooden stairs which were uneven and steep so not fir anyone with limited mobility as no bathroom or toilet upstairs. Other than this beds were really comfortable and plenty of storage for clothes etc . The second bedroom can only be accessed by the 1st bedroom so would not be suitable for separate couples but fine for children . Overall we loved this sweet little cottage run by a thoroughly kind and helpful French couple !
