Birch Cottage is a lovely detached holiday property sitting on a hillside overlooking Loch Long and the Firth of Clyde, near Dunoon, Argyll. It’s one of four situated within a small holiday development called Stronchullin.
A cosy cottage, with lots of natural light and lovely views, it sleeps six people in three bedrooms. On the ground floor there’s a spacious open-plan sitting room and dining area with oak flooring and a wood-burning stove. From the lounge there’s a patio door leading out to large deck and a garden with magnificent views. The kitchen has everything you could need. There’s also a shower room and a double bedroom downstairs. Upstairs there’s a single bedroom and a bedroom with a double and a single bed.
Included in the price are all fuel costs, bed linen and towels. For log burning stoves - we supply your first basket of logs free, additional baskets are £8 each.
Outside seating is provided on a new deck area where you can relax and soak in the Argyll scenery and enjoy alfresco drinks and dining or enjoy a barbecue in the gardens. The holiday cottages has an idyllic, secluded setting yet have all the amenities of Dunoon available just a few miles away.
Explore
Birch Cottage is a great place from which to explore the whole of Argyll, with Oban, Bute, Inveraray and Portavadie Marina all within day-trip distance. There’s a lively arts scene around this area, as well as endless opportunities for outdoor activities – from kayaking in the sheltered waters to walking in the woods.

Stayed here for 4 days to escape the fireworks. The cottage is very quiet and peaceful. It is very well equipped with everything required. The owner left a welcome hamper with some delicious home made shortbread and free range eggs which was thoroughly enjoyed. Situated on a working farm, this is perfect for anyone looking to escape for complete peace and quiet., the views from the cottage are spectacular .I would highly recommend this cottage

The cottage was really well equipped, always happy to find a cafetiere and a teapot! The freezer and slimline dishwasher were great to have too. After a tall willow was taken down by a storm, the views of the loch were beautiful!! We stayed for two weeks and were given fresh towels and linens after one week, there is a laundry room with washer and tumble dryer, free to use. We had a fantastic stay and loved the area.

Lovely location for walks (Puck's Glen; Benmore Gardens), fantastic views from property. Well appointed, great beds, modern kitchen and bathroom, wood-burner in living-room. Would definitely come again and recommend to other friends.

A lot of health and safety issues need to be addressed the main being we reported the patio door would not open it was not fixed leaving us with no exit if there was a fire in the kitchen or hall.We were asked to strip the bedding on leaving which would not have been a problem except the mattress in 3 of them were badly stained leaving us horrified at what we had been sleeping on I have a photo of 2 mattresses in question also we found an empty juice bottle under the bed not belonging to us
