Had a wonderful stay here. The owner met us on arrival, and was very helpful answering questions. He also had backup from a neighbor if we had missed him. This home was a treat. It exceeded our expectations. The home's age, decoration, and gardens offered a charm lacking in other vacation rentals (re: condos). And though an old home, kitchens and baths have been tastefully updated, providing modern amenities. And it was roomy. We were a group of seven and there was ample room to stretch out, with four separate bedroom spaces including three bedrooms on the second floor and the third floor loft. The location is private and quiet, fronting the river. The grounds include two garden spaces, one with a small pond and two chairs was great for reading. The other large garden is on the river side and surrounded by hedges for privacy. It was a great place to relax ( two hammocks) and for outdoor dining. The house has a well equipped kitchen, and there was a grill, if you like to eat in. Sadly, the nearby bakery had closed, but there was an excellent market up the road, in easy walking distance. Would advise, the drive could be a little tight for some cars. We had a large van which was accommodated with a little maneuvering. Two cars might have been a challenge, but one car would be no problem at all.
We would heartily recommend this house. Our party only wished our stay could have been longer.

Ignacio's home was a truly wonderful experience. Lots of room, quiet at night, a five minute walk to the nearest bakery in the morning. Ignacio was very communicative right from the start, answering questions as they arose in the months and weeks leading up to our stay. His neighbors were very friendly and accommodating in letting us in. Hendaye is a hidden gem of a town, less well known than St Jean de Luz. The beach, surfing and weather are very similar to southern California in the summer. Lots of great restaurants you can ride a bike to, and the train station is 10 minute walk if you want to hop over to San Sebastian and have some tapas. We had a great time, and would definitely go back.
