Needs a rental overhaul, many things not working. Including locks on doors electronics and main fireplace.Mouse poop all over the whole house, window seals, under cushions on sofas, it was gross Carpet torn and badly stained, Internet was unreliable so the TV didn’t work but the views made up for the lack of TV. Good location to cooks beach.Overall disappointed in the rental and quality of the house itself

Can’t beat the views and three couples can stay quite comfortably in privacy and community. Excellent kitchen space, comfortably heated, sliding doors are working, and a new dishwasher is much appreciated. When our friends arrived partway through our stay (Tuesday) we discovered that a bathroom sink was not delivering hot water. I called the Vacasa number and eventually the local office got in touch to say they would take care of it. Not hearing from them, I called the next afternoon to be informed that our problem was “on their radar.” The trash had also not been picked up on Tuesday, the day that the literature at the house suggested it be put out for removal. The Vacasa office said their handyman would pick up some trash to make room for ours. The trash people came Friday, and I’m so grateful to solid waste of Willits. Vacasa never followed up on the trash or the sink. Our valued guest washed her face and hands in cold water for the duration. We will come back to this house but we are well prepared for disappointment and expectations for service are low. Needs go unmet, communication does not exist, the carpet gets filthier and filthier, but the view is incomparable and the house is so comfortable. I wish I could quit you, Vacasa. All you needed to do was call me and say,sorry we can’t come out to fix the sink until after your week at the house is over?

This ocean front home with its 180 degree views was a heavenly place to view Gods creation, relax, and vacation. It’s comfortable, peaceful and provided all we needed. We enjoyed Point Arena lighthouse and our beautiful drive on PCH.

Beautiful, well laid-out home with stunning views of the coastline from inside and outside the home. Location is just off Hwy 1 a few miles from Gualala making day trips north to Mendocino or south along the coast easy. Cooks Beach is a few minutes walk down the road, it’s small but pretty. The house layout allows for a lot of privacy - huge master on one end (plus an additional bedroom) and on the other end a room with bath half a flight down, then a family room with TV and laundry/bath another half flight down. Great kitchen with Wolf stove opens to large living/dining area and deck. Highly recommend, we’ll be back!

The view is spectacular, if you can see out of the dirty windows. Several points listed with pictures to follow. 1. Garbage scattered in front of house 2. Garbage & recycling cans nearly full before we arrived 3. Cobwebs were evident throughout the property, inside and out. We cleaned cobwebs on deck area, deck light and window. There were also webs on some of inside light fixtures with dead bugs. 4. Carpeted areas, especially in hallway stairs from garage to the main floor, were stained to the point we did not feel comfortable walking barefoot on them. 4. Screen doors, one porch door and some windows were broken/non-functional. - Screen door on the downstairs bedroom was off track - Screen door to the deck came off track several times making it difficult to go back and forth - Door near master bedroom was locked, unable to open and enjoy sunset from that deck - Left window over kitchen sink got stuck/unable to open 5. 2nd bathroom on main floor was missing towel rack and in need of a paint job. 6. 3rd bathroom in downstairs bedroom toilet appear to back up, needed to plunge to keep it flushed 7. Huge stain on couch facing window in main living room 8. Tear in downstairs chair in den. Did not want to use for further potential damage. Overall, the pictures that advertised this property do not reflect the current condition of the house. This house needs alot of work and we felt the price paid was not worth the trouble & work. Will email pics to substantiate claim.

This house is more gorgeous than its pictures show -- huge and amazing views of the ocean and sun from morning til night. Exceeded expectations on that front! On the other hand, there were were problems with doors that didn't open to the outer decks and cobwebs that were sort of baffling. Not 100% up to par on some minor maintenance stuff that added some small dissonance to the overall splendor of the place.

This house has nice ocean views, but needs a lot of work and is not well maintained. We were notified shortly before check in that heat was broken. Heat was out entire time we were there during winter storms and we had to manage half a dozen space heaters to try and keep house warm. Despite space heaters, downstairs was cold and not usable. All dishes were dirty on arrival and had to rewash. Sheets appeared clean, but blankets and comforters had very sour body odor smell and all had to be rewashed. Bathroom rugs were dirty and had to be rewashed. Dining room window was broken and could not be closed. It kept slamming back and forth in the wind and we had to clean up the rain water that blew inside, despite numerous attempts to fasten it shut. Dish washer was broken and did not clean dishes. Also began leaking a lot of water under the sink and we had to clean that up to prevent water damage. Power went out and no functioning lanterns in house, but appreciate maintenance guy bringing over some others with fresh batteries. Living room fireplace inoperable. Patio door off dining room was broken and could not acces the patio. Expressed issues to property manager who was verbally sympathetic and promised to "make it right" with a significant discount, but never heard back.

We very much enjoyed staying at this house. We loved the views of the ocean and the nearby access to Cooks beach. The house is thoughtfully laid out and has a good vibe. There were a few items that needed repair or replacing, but otherwise it worked great for our family.

We’ve stayed here three years in a row, love the location and all the space for our extended family group. There are some maintenance issues that need attention, such as the sliding door to the patio not locking and the screen being broken, the cabinet in the kitchen being broken and swinging off the hinge, two of the fireplaces not working, etc…but, overall, we do like it here and the location can’t be beat. Just a little TLC is all it needs!

The views from this home were breathtaking all week!! We absolutely loved it! The beds and furnishings very comfortable. The master shower and tub are incredible. Plenty of space to put all your belongings. Two living areas so it was very comfortable. Gualala point was the biggest beach and very close 5-10 min drive. Cooks beach was walking distance and perfect! There are lots of trails closeby to hike and have picnics. From the home you don't feel so close to the beach that you feel like you're on a cliff but NOTHING is in the way of your view to see the beach or walk right over. This was the perfect stay. Out and away from hustle bustle...very peaceful. All the stars were in view at night on the clear nights. A couple small grocery stores are in Gualala 2-5 min away. A one screen movie theatre up near point arena light house. The light house had incredible views. It was only a few hours up to the large growth redwoods in Humboldt State Forest. The coast had a lot of turns and mountains in areas so be ready to drive carefully and small cars are probably easier but honestly we got used to it and drove the whole thing in a huge expedition so its all safe and doable just new to people driving in mountains and on bluffs. We are definately coming again. The home was perfect. Very large balcony. Wonderful views. We even brought Granny who is 90 and she loved it! There are stairs so we just held her arms and she walked them. She loved the views from the home and we had SO much fun playing with the kids on the beaches!

This house has everything you want for a weekend away and a base to explore the Mendocino Coast. A lovely layout with big bedrooms that are well separated and very quiet it's ideal for a multi-couple getaway. Great bathrooms great kitchen and world-class view of the ocean. Plus it's on a quiet side street only a mile or two from town so convenient but incredibly quiet. Like any rental, a thing or two was broken while we were there. Vacasa generally updates you on these before you sign so just pay attention. The dishwasher was broken for us and there is no telescope. Overall an outstanding value with excellent beds and dining set up

Very private, large, comfortable house with great separate facilities for 3-4 couples. Spacious kitchen with some gaps and uneven quality in utensils, pots/pans etc. Lots of deferred maintenance; be ready to wash your own dishes as the dishwasher is down to its last drawer, and it’s leaking.

When I read the reviews here, they were all spectacular and I decided not to pay attention to the one that talked about management problems. It was a big mistake, especially seeing poor response to the complaint below the review. I have never written a negative review and always thought that people writing it just like complaining. The internet did not work upon our arrival, which was fine as things break sometimes, so we called Barbara several times asking for help. She didn't call back until the night before we left, which is unacceptable. Even then, we tried to be understanding as it was her weekend too. However, we found several notes in the house from previous travelers saying they had troubles with phone and internet and none of those concerns were addressed. We've decided we needed to warn future renters so they can avoid the unpleasant experience we had. The house is beautiful and views are amazing, but it was not worth the trouble and stress we had to deal with. I e-mailed her upon our return with my complaint and the response was that... we left the house in a bad shape because we didn't clean up. Isn't that what the cleaning fee is for? I was shocked as we did everything she asked for (took the trash out, dishes etc.) so her response made me want to warn others before they consider renting this place. It's very unfortunate as the place is really beautiful but just not worth dealing with such poor treatment. We just wanted some apology and reassurance that she will fix the internet problem. I wonder how she is going to respond to my review - perhaps in the same way she did before - that we were very demanding renters given our only 3 day stay? I guess you will be fine if you rent it for more than 2-3 days but if you stay less than that - you may not be considered important enough to be treated with respect? Really disappointing.

This was our first time booking a vacation home through vrbo.com . This house exceeded our expectations. From the booking procedure to directions and the condition of the Beach house it could not have gone any smoother. Barb was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. The house was everything we'd hoped for and more. The location allowed us to do as much or little as we wished. We drove North and enjoyed the redwoods. wineries and the beautiful costal drive. Gualala only 2 miles down the road had all the necessities. We had wifi and a land line at the house but don't expect cell service in the area which forces you to put away the iphone and ENJOY!!

Our family of 4 stayed at this beautiful Beach House. We were very impressed with everything from communication with the owner to the home itself. The pictures do reflect the beauty of the home but definitely not the warmth of the home that you'll feel when you walk in. We LOVED the decking that overlooked the ocean. We had 2 days of rainy weather but it forced us to just chill and relax and play games in the home. The rest of the time was sunny. I had to work each night while there and connect via a Citrix connection and had zero issues with connectivity. The TV Satellite was spotty at times and would cut in & out but no big deal - we weren't on vacation to watch tv :-) Thank you Barbara for sharing this beautiful home. We loved it and hope to return. Hwy 1 is a little crazy but an amazing drive to an amazing location!!!

This has been, by far, the nicest house we have stayed at. This is a lovely, comfortable, beautifully furnished home with stunning views. The owners have paid unusual attention to details often overlooked in not only vacation homes but in primary residences. The pictures accurately reflect the house & views. No need for staging! Barbara, the manager, answered all our questions. We hope to come back and not only enjoy another relaxing stay but take advantage of more of what the area has to offer. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful home situated right on the ocean bluff with views that were everything that was promised. Everything in the home is of great quality and our visit was very enjoyable. My only issue was with the manager of the property. The initial contract said that we'd get a check in/out list as soon as she had received our deposit. We never did get that. It took an email and 2 phone calls to get confirmation that we were booked. An email after we left asking for a breakdown of charges has gone unanswered for 3 days so far. So it's the only thing that left me feeling that I'd consider other properties next time we visit.

Can't say enough about the house and the views. Wow! Immaculate, modern, open concept home. Very comfortable with an ocean view you can (and will) stare at all day. The location is ideal for exploring the stretch of coast up to Mendocino and down to Bodega Bay, even into Sonoma if need be. Being a new rental, it did lack a few minor items we would have liked to see. We submitted these to Barbara and she intends to add them. Also, double check the WIFI is available should you require it. It was not available when we arrived, but Barbara did obtain a temporary router to make things work for us. The new permanent router is supposed to be coming. Barbara is very easy to deal with, attentive and provides great information. Gualala is a cute little oceanside town — two grocery stores, a couple of gift shops, restaurants. You won't be disappointed!
