Spectacular Oceanfront Mid-Century Modern in Bolinas
Experience coastal living at its finest in this one-of-a-kind oceanfront home, designed in the early 1960s by renowned Bay Area architect Edward B. Page. Believed to be the only Bolinas residence he ever created, the home is a true and very original example of mid-century modern architecture.
Set on nearly two acres of prime oceanfront property, the house enjoys panoramic views from San Francisco to Stinson Beach and Duxbury Reef. The expansive, level, fully fenced yard offers privacy and space, while the beach and the heart of Bolinas are only a short stroll away.
With 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, this home is perfect for families or couples seeking tranquility, comfort, and style. Spend your days surfing, beachcombing, hiking the magical Palomarin trails, or tide-pooling at Agate Beach—or make the easy drive (less than an hour) into San Francisco or Napa Valley.
Inside the Home
The main floor is tastefully furnished and designed for open-concept living. The family room, dining area, and kitchen are framed by two 16-foot retractable glass walls that open completely onto the deck, creating a seamless indoor–outdoor experience with uninterrupted views of the Pacific.
• Master Suite: King bed, ensuite bath, and sweeping ocean views.
• Bedroom Two: Queen bed with ensuite half bath.
• Bedroom Three: Queen bed with ensuite full bath.
• Bedroom four: Queen
• Bedroom five: 2 Twin beds
• All bedrooms include flat-screen TVs for convenience.
Dining is a pleasure both indoors and out. The circular dining table seats 8, with room for 3 more at the kitchen bar. On the deck, you’ll find an additional dining table for 8, 4 sun loungers, and a firepit with 8 Adirondack chairs—perfect for sunsets and stargazing.
We also have a huge picnic table on the knoll that can seat as many as 12!
Downstairs offers additional space for entertainment and relaxation:
• Game Room: Features a 12-foot retractable glass wall opening to the yard, plus a huge pool table, oversized sectional sofa, and 75” plasma TV.
Outdoor Living
Soak in the spa while watching surfers below, gather by the oceanfront firepit, or play in the expansive, level yard. With the glass walls fully retracted upstairs and down, you’ll enjoy the ultimate indoor–outdoor living experience—whether lounging on the plush sectional sofas by the fire or listening to the waves under the stars.

This house is perfect for two families. The views are stunning and the house is well equipped. Our host was very responsive. Highly recommended.

First, about the rating. We stayed during an epic storm that tested the house's coziness factor. A more accurate rating would have been: during gale force winds and snow, the property deserves a 3. On a normal day, a 4.5.
The property management team was A+. I messed up the arrival date: SOLVED. A couple of other minor and major issues: SOLVED. IMMEDIATELY. Very happy with their response.
The house itself was fairly typical for an older beach house. It was perfect for what it is, but if you want modern, this may not be for you.
Two things some people might have issues with:
•The house is very much slanted. You walk uphill from one side to another. It’s not horrible, but watch out when opening drawers in the kitchen. Management has said they’ll be leveling the floors.
•It is a narrow and steep staircase to enter. Older folks may have an issue with heavy/bulky bags.
But the view. THE VIEWS!! Seriously. You may enjoy different views in a lot of places, but you’ll never find anything more breathtaking. Wow!!!! Epic.
Kitchen has a great collection of pots and pans. Not quite a gourmet kitchen, but quite well stocked and up there with any rental. Pantry items were not awesome and could have used a re-fresh. Big fridge and freezer. Plenty of bowls/plates/glasses/knives (sharp!) and silverware.
Fireplace is on point and easy to use.
Hot Tub is clean, gets hot quickly and was the best place to chill and watch whales. The bathtub outside seems more fitted for a cool bath, not a hot soak. It took 2 hours to fill.
Overall the property was really nice.

This is the best rental we've ever had. The house has stunning views, is well appointed and the location is walkable to town, but feels completely remote! I highly recommend this property if it's available! The fireplace inside was so nice to have and you just can't get over the sounds and views of the ocean. What a treat.
