This charming half-timbered cottage is nestled in the middle of the forest. In 2020, the cottage was completely renovated: modern, high-quality, and filled with natural light. The new barrel sauna and hot tub in the garden offer the perfect setting for relaxation (additional fee applies). Through the large upstairs windows, you can look out onto the neighboring golf course—or simply enjoy the unspoiled nature. The secluded property offers the perfect setting for relaxing moments with up to 8 guests. [Children up to 10 years old stay free of charge when booked with an accompanying adult.]

Please note: Since our “hot tub” could not be selected as an amenity on Airbnb, we checked the box for “whirlpool” instead => this refers to the optionally bookable hot tub, which, however, does not have a whirlpool function!

This rustic half-timbered house combines the charm of traditional half-timbered architecture with stylish, modern furnishings. The open living/kitchen area and the large, sunny terrace invite you to linger.

BARREL SAUNA + HOT TUB We’ve set up a brand-new, wood-fired barrel sauna in the garden, plus a heated “hot tub.” Both can be booked on-site for an additional fee (150 euros per stay).

CHILD POLICY:
Children up to age 12 stay for free (when booked with accompanying adults). Please DO NOT enter the children as guests/child guests, as the booking system will unfortunately charge for them. Instead, please let us know in the “Comments” field (free-text box) when booking how many children of what ages (up to 12 years old) will be traveling with you, so we can plan accordingly. Children over 12 years old, however, must be listed as full-paying guests in the guest count.

PETS: Pets are allowed by arrangement, but only on the first floor (due to the carpet, pets are not allowed on the upper floor).

CHECK-IN: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM; check-out: by 11:00 AM. Would you like to arrive earlier or later? Just let us know: depending on the booking situation, we’ll try to accommodate your requests.

As guests, you have full, exclusive access to all areas of the Waldhaus, including exclusive use of the terrace and the entire garden. Upon your arrival, we’ll welcome you personally and show you around the house. If you’re interested, you can also book the sauna or hot tub on-site.

We provide personalized service to our guests and are available by cell phone if you have any questions. If necessary or desired, we can come to the Waldhaus on short notice, as we live in the neighborhood (about 5 minutes away).

The golf course right next door is open year-round and offers an exciting challenge for avid golfers. In the small village of Ankum—which can be seen from afar thanks to St. Nikolaus Parish Church, rising majestically above the surrounding landscape—there is a wide variety of dining options and recreational activities. For example, you can visit the fitness trail with its water treading area and adjacent forest playground, explore the numerous stone and megalithic tombs, or walk the Taggenbrock Way of the Cross. Osnabrück is an ideal destination for a city tour, with its picturesque old town, the Town Hall of the Peace of Westphalia, and a wide variety of shopping options.

Hikers will enjoy a tour of the Piesberg and its arboretum: the approximately 150-year-old giant sequoia there stands over 33 meters tall—taller than the town hall in Osnabrück—and is unique in the Osnabrück region.
