Originally used for cider making, and more recently for stabling working horses, this tastefully converted detached property features a wealth of splendid elm timbering, including part of the original cider press. I stayed with my sister and our 3 dogs and all I can say is 'we didn't want to leave'. Such a lovely place and very warm with endless hot water. I would definitely recommend for a romantic week away. The owners were lovely and greeted us with a delicious home baked cake. Fantastic views over the large garden. The dogs had a lovely time with lots of space to run around. We will definitely be back.

The property was in a lovely position lots of things to do within 30 minute driving distance . It was very clean and well equipped and the hosts were very welcoming.

We had a lovely stay at The Stables. Property was well equipped with everything we needed and very comfortable. The owners are lovely although we didnt get to see them much due to covid! The only one thing I would recommend is a slightly larger TV in the kitchen/lounge area! Although upstairs has a bigger tv with a DVD player. Great for a couple with a baby. Rural location ten minutes from Gloucester and very near the M5. Lovely garden space. If you're 6ft+ you will need to duck upstairs as it is a converted stable and there are low supporting beams. All equipment was fine, though the vacuum cleaner was very weak. I'm criticising a non-essential appliance, it has to be good! The owners live on the farm too and so any issues can be dealt with -- we only had a light bulb to be replaced, but it was done that day. We'd definitely go back.

Lovely converted barn with original features, and a secure garden which our dog adored. Well equipped, and lots of information of local attractions available. We self catered, and the cottage was well equipped. Lovely marmalade cake was a welcome treat! Main living quarters is upstairs in the bedroom. As we had a dog with us we were sadly unable to take advantage if this. Downstairs is a smaller area, but nice and cosy. We hope to return, as it is perfectly located for the quieter part of gloucestershire, which we love.

Warm and comfortable, very well cleaned and covid-aware. Home-made cake a bonus, friendly and helpful hosts. Short walk to village shop, and close to great places to visit including Gloucester, Slimbridge WWT and the Canal. Also a nice walk from the cottage to the disused canal and river. we were givern a lovely welcome by the owners and made to feel at ease . the large grassed area was enjoyed by my stepmothers dog and as it was fully enclosed we felt secure in her (thats the dog by the way) going in and out of her own accord ! One thing was that the tv was small and the large one was upstairs but that would mean leaving the dog alone downstairs which we didnt feel fair so we stayed downstairs . The amenities were ok but the beams upstairs although period and very attractive are easily made contact with as they (in the master bedroom ) are 5ft 9" high and im 6ft tall which i forgot a few times ! but hay ho its a period building so you cannot do much about it . The water was always almost imediatly hot but the boiler does make some noise when working but you have to remember its an oil fired system so its mechanical , ive had worse but you get used to it . The floors in the kitchen diner are tiles which are not cold as i thought they would be and were a bonus when muddy wet paws came in (again thats the dog although i got told off once for !) At the top of the lane theres a shop a chinese takeaway a curry house takeaway and a chippy . Your not far from supermarkets and Gloucester and would recomend going to Painswick a totaly amazing village . The owners of the property were hepfull and gave a lot of local information they were a delight to talk to . The lane upto the property is a bit rough and narrow so a slow drive is necessary but its only a short distance to the farm . We had a lovely time and the weather was kind to us good for late sept !
