About this house rental
The open concept of this property with large deck, privacy fenced in yard, and large 1 car garage (it's actually a 2 car, but only 1 stall is available) make it ideal for almost any occasion. Whether you are in town for a wedding, fishing tournament, hunting season, Bald Eagle watching, visiting Nauvoo (5 minute flight if you're a crow or 30 minute drive in a car), or just enjoying one of the greatest states in the nation, this property in historic Montrose will not disappoint. It's physically located walking distance from several parks, ice cream shop, local watering hole and eatery, and boat ramp.
There are security cameras located in the garage, the fenced in yard, and under the garage overhang looking at the backdoor and deck area. Curious what they see? The monitor for the cameras is in the house and available to view live. Please do not select "alarm" on the cameras. It is loud and the the neighbors won't appreciate it. There are also 2 cameras in the basement pointing straight down at the sump pumps to alert the owner if there is water in the basement. There hasn't been water since June 2023. If these are unacceptable, I can remove the battery during your stay as long as you check the basement if/when it rains. 2 of the other cameras on the monitor are physically located at 300 Spruce Street in a gymnasium.
Garage: I store a few items in the garage I may need access to during your stay. If so, I will reach out to let you know and I will enter from the alleyway. You won't even know I'm there.
Kayaks: Please let me know when you book your stay if you plan to use the complimentary kayaks. I will want to make sure they are in the garage along with appropriate life jackets.
Sleeping 8: There are 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, a full size futon, and only 1 bathroom. The house can accommodate 8, but it is tight. Plan accordingly.

Our first impression of this property was that it was extremely clean. It was well-appointed and complete, from the kitchen, entertainment area, and clean, comfortable beds — fabulous night’s sleep. The beds and all linens were first rate. We appreciated the makeup mirror and all of the other extra touches in the bathroom. Our many compliments to our hosts who were attentive and readily replied to our emails. Lovely, well-maintained house and nicely decorated. If you decide to stay with in this quaint town with midwestern hospitality, you will not be disappointed. Your hosts will ensure you will feel welcomed. I cannot say enough good things about these wonderful hosts.

Place with great. Nice big open room with great bedrooms. The laundry was very nice to have and the bathroom was very nice. Great amenities and very good instructions. Thank you

Comfortable small town house in nice location. Perfect for our visit with family that lives in Montrose. All the comforts of home. Will be staying here again in future visits. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to visit the area.
