About this house rental

With classic Montana views, lots of wildlife, plenty of acreage to stretch your legs, a quiet end of the road location, a gorgeous, very comfortable, well-maintained log home and an incredible amount of easy-to-access river frontage on one of the West's crown jewel rivers, the Blackfoot, we welcome you to our Blackfoot home.
Equally appealing for a private getaway for couples or a perfect base location for families looking for an outdoor getaway, our fully furnished cabin checks every box.
Comfortable accommodations? Yes. The perfect level of coziness mixed with function. The cabin is highly efficient with thick walls for fantastic temperature regulation. Plenty of windows provide tons of natural light and allow you to open it up for as much fresh air as you like. The cabin has incredible views out to the neighboring public lands and river views. Big couches and chairs allow you to relax and take it all in. A killer wrap around deck allows you to enjoy the epic down valley sunsets and welcoming beds will ensure a quality night's sleep so you can get after it the next day...or sleep in until you feel like getting up.
Privacy and quiet location? Yes, located at the end of a private ranch road your neighbors will be deer, elk, coyotes, prairie dogs, sandhill cranes and other birds and the occasional bear.
Room to stretch your legs? Yes, located on 35 acres you'll have grassy flats, sage and wildflower benches, pine and juniper groves, and gorgeous cottonwood stands...and the river. If you want to do more exploring, once you're within the high water mark of the Blackfoot's banks, legally you can wander for miles up or down the river bed.
Is the river safe? Yes, but always exercise caution with water. The river is extremely accessible to adults and children provided children are accompanied by an adult. The river is braided out beautifully in this stretch and it makes for wonderful fishing spots, rock collecting, making mud pies, skipping stones, or just lounging in the sun listening to the current and cottonwood leaves. Please note, the river can go subsurface, that is, it "runs dry". In a typical year, this happens towards the end of August and is totally out of anyone's control other than Mother Nature.
How far from town? As secluded and private as the property is, the town of Lincoln is only about a 7 minute drive away on a well maintained road. You might see elk, deer, cranes, geese and maybe a bear on your way to town.
Bears? Yes. This section of the Blackfoot Valley in and around the Lincoln area is well known for its healthy grizzly bear population. While an encounter is unlikely, please bring bear spray if you go down to the river or for a hike in the nearby national forest.

Amazing log home! The property is beautiful, and the home is so open and great for a family. We even seen a herd of elk in the field on our last day.

This is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Unfortunately the river this time of year is dry, no water. But it was close to other fishing spots. The views of the mountains are splendid. The host was communicative and friendly and gave precise directions to the property. I would book this place afain if we go back to the Lincoln area.
