This covers a fell that overlooks Lake Ullswater. It has a large lawned garden with sitting-out areas in which to enjoy the peacefulness and tranquility of the babbling brook. There are fantastic walks, and wildlife is often seen within the grounds, including roe deer, badger, fox, squirrels, buzzards, ravens and regular nesting ducks. The property has its own lake shore frontage just across the road, offering private fishing and the possibility of launching small craft such as a windsurfer, canoe or rubber dinghy. Windsurfing, rowing and motorboat hire, sailing, golf, pony trekking and steamer cruises are available locally. The main shopping areas are in Penrith, 7 miles, and Pooley Bridge is just 1½ miles away with shops, tea rooms and pubs, and there is a restaurant within walking distance.
