Lovely cottage in the heart of Keswick with all amenities at hand.Comfort of furniture and bed was the only let down.

Lovely cottage in the most perfect location! Close to popular walks such as Skiddaw, Derwentwater and Buttermere. The cottage was the perfect base to return home to after a long, wet walk. It is cosy and felt safe, although probably on the small side for any more than 2 guests - as a couple, we found it just right. There is no dishwasher so we found some cutlery and utensils were not properly washed, not sure if this is the fault of the previous guests or the cleaning staff, but would expect clean utensils to be a minimum requirement. Overall, Alvamere is the perfect spot for a walking holiday and a cosy place to return home to to rest your tired feet. We would happily return!

The bed was so uncomfortable I couldn’t stay again.
