Lovely forest walks start from the door and angling, cycling, canoeing, riding and climbing are available nearby, whilst the myriad attractions of the Forest range from a steam railway to a butterfly zoo. Forest Hills Golf Course, Coleford is only 8 minutes away. The Wye Valley and historic Monmouth’s excellent range of leisure facilities are within a half hour’s drive as are Gloucester’s celebrated docks, outlet shopping and magnificent cathedral. Shop and pub 1 mile. Nearest supermarket is Tesco in Cinderford an 11 minute drive from the cottage.

Excellent! Very comfortable, clean, spacious, warm with a large secure garden for the dog. We really appreciated the flowers, biscuits, tea and coffee and the selection of board games. The forest is 50 metres away with good walks. The whole property looked bigger and better in real life than in the photos. Large well equipped kitchen. If you’re staying during winter the external games room does take a while to warm up but the cottage itself is toasty warm. Not a lot of amenities in the immediate area other than the forest but perfect for a restful, secluded getaway.

Lovely cottage . Very well equipped. A real shame that the weather was bad at the start of the week but it didn't spoil our holiday. Could do with a bucket or some container to put the ash from the very welcome log burner. Overall a wonderful stay

Oak Tree Cottage is a surprising find. Situated in a hamlet off the beaten track, it is beautifully presented and has a very special large dog friendly garden. Good walks in woodland from the front door, a nearby beaver reserve complete with beaver dam and the River Wye nearby all make it a good start point for an active holiday.

Beautiful cottage, lots of space both inside and outside. Right on the edge of the forest, so you can walk out from the front door very easily. Easy to reach local places like Yats Rock, Symonds Yat, Goodrich Castle, etc. Very welcoming.
