Escape to Applewood Lodge, a peaceful and private Michigan A-frame cabin surrounded by tall trees — just 3 minutes (1.7 miles) from Pier Cove Beach on Lake Michigan, known for amazing sunsets and beach rock hunting. This secluded one-acre retreat feels hidden away yet sits close to Fennville, Saugatuck, Douglas, Holland, and South Haven — perfect for exploring wineries, cider houses, farm markets, art galleries, and local dining.
Whether you’re planning a romantic couple’s getaway or a group vacation with friends, Applewood Lodge offers space, comfort, and that true “up north” feeling without the long drive.
After a day on the beach or wine tasting along the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail, unwind in the private five-person hot tub under twinkle lights, or gather by the firepit (firewood provided) for starlit conversation. Play yard games like cornhole and bocce, or head to the garage game room featuring an air hockey table, sofa, and TV.
Inside, the spacious living room invites you to relax with a large sectional sofa and Roku Smart TV. The well-equipped kitchen includes quality cookware, coffee and tea provided, and a large dining table for eight — ideal for shared meals and game nights.
Sleep comfortably in three inviting bedrooms:
Master (Main Floor): King bed + ensuite bath with walk-in tiled shower
Bedroom 2 (Upstairs): Queen bed
Bedroom 3 (Upstairs): Full bed, twin bed & folding sleeper chair
Pack-and-play and high chair provided

Very clean. Spacious. Dining area stools quite uncomfortable…..but cute. . Beds comfy. Kinda hot upstairs. Tourist info found in drawer the day we left. lol. Good thing we brought our own. Hot tub terrific. Firepit had huge hole in bottom and burning logs fell through. But a two tiered fire looked great. We were surprised that 124th ave was actually m89! Lotsa road noise when we were outside. Had the police pull over someone in front of the house. Lights flashing. It was better to just stay inside. But the house is adorable. We probably wouldn’t have stayed here if we knew it was on m89. But we enjoyed our stay. But probably won’t return. Sorry. Only because we like more quiet and secluded locations. Otherwise was a really nice place to stay. Thank you.

This unique looking home was surprisingly spacious. It was very clean with comfortable beds, and the hot tub was also great. This is a terrific place to stay for visiting Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville, and a short drive to other beach coast towns. Excellent communication from the host.
