About this house rental

The Oliver House is located within the historic Goodman Point area and sits on the family farm with expansive views in all directions. The home, built in 1965, is in its original state and is well kept, clean, and provides an authentic rural SW Colorado experience. This 1600 sq. ft. home has three bedrooms, one bath, a spacious living area, fire place, full kitchen, dining room, and full service laundry room. Enjoy the solitude as you watch the sun rise over the beautiful LaPlata Mountains, and the sun set over Utah’s Blue Mountains. The Sleeping Ute Mountain is close by to the south and the Lone Cone in the distance to the north. Depending on the season, bare witness to tractors working ground in the fields and livestock grazing in the pastures

Located on a sparsely populated paved country road, the house is 1 mile from the Canyon of the Ancients National Monument Sand Canyon Trail Head. Enjoy riding your ATV or mountain bike on the dirt roads and trails within the Monument or take a hike on the Sand Canyon Trail in search of Puebloan ruins. The house is located two hours from Moab, Utah and Telluride, CO, one hour from Mesa Verde National Park, and less then an hour from the San Juan National Forest. Within a 30 minute drive there are boating and fishing opportunities on Narraguinnep and McPhee reservoirs, and world class single track mountain biking at Phil’s World and Boggy Draw trail systems.

The possibilities are endless, but the main attraction might just be the quiet solitude of real country living. We look forward to having you visit. Just drive carefully and watch for the local deer population on your way to the Oliver House.

A wonderful peaceful place just a bit outside of town. Beautiful night skies in the country. We loved sitting on the patio in the mornings to listen to and identify many many birds! Our host Kelly was extremely helpful with whatever our needs were. She is very kind and thoughtful! When she learned we would be late she offered to go turn on some lights and the cooler so it wouldn’t be so hot. We would certainly stay here again and reccomend it to anyone!

I wanted to visit Mesa Verde again after 29 years. The Oliver House was perfect for our family. It was 35 minutes from the park gate, had a fenced in back yard for our two dogs, and a patio made for grilling and enjoying an uninterrupted view of the mountains. We arrived later than expected due to stopped traffic on the highway. We found chocolate on the kitchen table to help lift the mood and cold water in the fridge. I forgot lotion…no problem! A small bottle of body lotion was provided in the bathroom. One of us forgot their toothbrush, there were two packaged toothbrushes and toothpaste in the drawer. Snacks were available in the kitchen as well as coffee, spices, and oils. Everything was well organized and extremely clean. I didn’t want to leave this beautiful setting.

This is a charming rural house, authentically vintage. Very quiet.

We loved our stay at the Oliver house. Everything was as described and Kelly was very easy to work with. Depending on your activities, the house is a bit out of the way from the main highway. For us it was fine, but do map it so you know ahead of time. We would recommend Oliver house to friends. Thanks Kelly!
