Snow Canyon 27 is the perfect getaway to enjoy the serenity of St George and the Southern Utah desert climate. This single family home backs up to the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve providing privacy and incredible views of the red rock cliffs, entrance to Snow Canyon and distant Pine Mountains. From this location walk a short distance to the club house with work out room and the outdoor pool with hot tub. There are only 30 homes in the community of Encanto so the heated pool has plenty of room. Encanto is located between Entrada and the Red Mountain Spa with the bicycle trail right out front to take you to Snow Canyon or the rest of St George via the miles of paved trails. Walk 5 minutes to the public Canyon Breeze restaurant located at the Red Mountain Spa for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Don't forget to tell the hostess you are a local so you can enjoy a 10% discount. Miles of hiking and mountain biking trails in the Red Cliffs Reserve can be accessed right from the house or drive a short distance to the many trail heads in the area including Snow Canyon State Park a 5 minute drive away. In addition the Tuacahn outdoor amphitheater is also about 5 minutes away and Zion is only 1 hour away by car.

It’s really an amazing property. Communication was straightforward and prompt. My kids didn’t want to leave. There were some minor inconveniences, none of which were the homeowner’s fault. A significant number of units in the neighborhood are rentals, which has both good and bad impacts on your stay; it’s just something to be aware of.

When I first saw the listing for this property, I thought it was too good to be true. But the view really is as amazing as the pictures -- the primary view out the back looks right into Snow Canyon State Park. The mountains are red, and the floor of the canyon is an ancient lava flow. The park is a 3-minute drive from the house, and in the early morning there are several hikes that have a lot of shade. Even though highs were in the 90s the days we were there, there was a nice breeze on the back patio in the late afternoon and evening, and we enjoyed watching hummingbirds and bats and stars from the patio. (We did not encounter any "alarming" critters like snakes or scorpions anywhere near the house or in the park.) The house was cool inside despite the heat outside.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the house in Ivins with the deck overlooking the lava field and red cliffs of Snow Canyon State Park. The neighborhood is very quiet. Houses are close together but fortunately no one else was sitting outside on their decks at the time. The main street to the park is close to be convenient but not obtrusive or loud. The house was comfortable with great southwest decor and furniture and very clean but could have used better microwave/dishwasher safe dinnerware and kitchen towels. The showers and thick, soft towels were wonderful, and we liked the niceties provided, such as suitcase racks, laundry baskets, and kleenix. We would have appreciated better screen doors in the living room french doors, so we could open them for air/nature sounds without the bugs getting in. The cable/satellite TV, hvac, and fireplaces worked well. The laundry center was very appreciated, as we didn't have to pack as much on our trip. The property was just a few minutes from the park entrance, and just down the road from St. George and Red Cliffs Recreation Area to the north. Great communication with the owner, especially the welcome book with detailed house instructions. Overall, we had a fun and relaxing time and recommend this home in the Encanto neighborhood to all.
