Come relax with friends, family or have a romantic getaway at this, newly renovated, water front retreat. Enjoy fishing, kayaking, manatees and the most amazing sunsets. Have a glass of wine on the dock, s'mores by the fire pit or throw some steaks on the grill and enjoy the huge back deck.
The property is beautifully situated on Governors Creek and famous for flat water kayaking. Its also just blocks from the downtown area. With all small towns trains come and go right through town. The tracks run close by this property so If you don't like trains you won't like it here.( Look at the picture the first picture to see the location.) For me I love trains, there is something fascinating and a little romantic about these old trains. Kids love them too. If you love all the small town vibes, the water, the boats, the trains, the friendly people, quaint restaurants and all the other things a small town has to offer you will love this place..

Beautiful home on Governor’s Creek/St. John’s River. Located on the water with your own private dock, equipped with kayaks, bikes, ping pong, foosball, and darts. A great place for a family gathering or a romantic getaway. It’s only about 30-40 min from Historic St. Augustine, FL, and the beach. If you love to fish, boat, or just chill and grill, this is your spot. It has a nice fire pit outside, too. The home comes fully equipped with all cookware/dishes/washer & dryer and linens, all nice and clean. We enjoyed our four night stay. I loved having coffee on the dock, watching the sunrise and the sunset. Most of all, I loved all the manatees. It was just perfect. A million times better than staying at a hotel. We will definitely be back.

Our stay at the Kayakers Retreat was incredible! I can not say enough good things about our host Frederic and this amazing property. We can’t wait to go back. A brief listing of all we saw and did on our four day stay: kayaked everyday, listened to the nighttime chorus of frogs, watched the manatees munch their lunch beneath the dock, gazed at the eagles perching high in the tress, enjoyed the egrets & herons fishing and the daily to and fro of the neighborhood alligator. We spent so much time outdoors that we didn’t even get to all the wonderful games, bikes or even enjoy a night in front of the fireplace. The property of clean, cozy and well stocked with towels, linens and cookware. The train was a shock the first time it went by and then we rarely noticed it (they were all very short trains and went by quickly). Our pups joined us for our stay and they settled in instantly, which complements the thoroughness of cleaning between guests. The pups had very little to sniff of other visitors and both snuggled on the dog bed provided. Thank you Frederic for sharing this amazing property! We will be back.

Great house for rent but with a limited pots and pand for cooking. Stove burners on low were actually high.
