About this cottage rental
. Welcome to The Guide’s River Cottage — a spacious, newly renovated home that blends peaceful riverfront living with the convenience of being just steps from Old Forge’s Main Street. Shops, restaurants, grocery, mini golf, and ice cream are all nearby, while back at the house you’ll feel tucked away in your own Adirondack retreat.
The heart of the home is the super open-concept great room, where the kitchen, dining, and living spaces flow together with beautiful river views. Step outside to enjoy multi-level decks with Adirondack chairs, grill on the gas grill, and gather around the gas fire pit under the stars.
The river is your playground here — launch the three provided kayaks and watch turtles and fish in the water, float to nearby sandbars, or paddle up gentle rapids. Guests often spot wildlife right from the property too: deer, otters, ducks, cranes, songbirds, and squirrels are regular visitors.
Sleeping arrangements are perfect for families and groups with 3 queen beds plus a bunk room for kids. Fresh linens and all essentials are provided.

We were traveling with another family during our stay. All of our kiddos thought this place was way better than any other cottage we've rented. There was lots of space for the kids to explore! The proximity to town was something we had never experienced in Old Forge and we loved it!!! The river was fantastic! The host was very responsive to every message I sent and was a pleasure to talk to:) This is a great place to stay if you have pre-teens that like a little freedom to wonder.

The location of the cabin was perfect. The back porches overlooked the river making for an enjoyable stay. The kitchen was not very well equipped: missing any mixing bowls, Spatulas, and working can opener. The stand alone AC could not keep up with the need. A few more chairs for the dinning table would be helpful. We had a lot of towels and a good washer/dryer, but no wash cloths or hand towels.
