Summary:
Charming 2 story beach cottage!! Our home has a historic and FUN beach flair with numerous modern amenities, walk right out the front door and turn right to walk to the private beach (less than 5 minutes), or walk to Historic Corolla (less than a 3 minutes). Our Oceanside cottage is conveniently located in the Heart of Historic Corolla enabling guests to walk right out the front door to the ocean, the famous Currituck Lighthouse and all of its surrounding museums, parks, shops, restaurants, etc.
The Space:
Sleeps 16 people comfortably, with 3 King suites, 1 King bedroom with Hall bathroom access, 1 Queen, 2 Fulls & 2 Twins, and 5 full bathrooms. Large (36 X 16) Private HEATED (optional) Pool with 5 person hot tub, large pool deck for lounging, LARGE Screened in Porch with Large Picnic Table, dual access to the pool. For family entertainment there is a full size recreation room with pool table and wet bar, a LARGE screened in porch with Large Picnic table dining located off of the kitchen and family room, wrap around porch decks, full size family, kitchen, and dining areas.
Only 2 Floors (so you do not have to climb 3 levels of stairs all week):
Bottom Floor-4 bedrooms and 3 full baths as follows: 2 King Master suites each with full baths, 1 Twin over Full, 1 Queen bedroom, 1 Full hall bath, rec room with wet bar/full refrigerator & separate sports fridge and laundry room.
Top Floor-3 bedrooms and 2 full baths as follows: 1 King suite with full bath, King bedroom with immediate Hall full bath access, 1 Twin over Full, Large Kitchen, double dining room, Family room, with access to the Screened porch.
Our cottage has been recently updated with Flat Screen TV’s, Gig Internet/Wi-Fi, new furnishings & décor, countertops. About 4 minutes walking distance to the beach, Distance to the Currituck Lighthouse is about 450 yards (5 minutes) and easy under 10 minutes walking distance to Museums, shops, and restaurants.
While the cottage and the ocean are fun to enjoy, there is so much more to do at this location! Leave right out your front door to go for unforgettable walks or bike rides on the beautiful Whalehead Heritage park trails that flow by the Currituck Sound all shaded by huge live Oaks. See vibrant sunsets over the sound, just a stroll away.
Walk to the brand-new Wild Life Museum, climb the Currituck Lighthouse, or picnic on the Whalehead lawn. Walk to fun beach shops, and don’t forget the “kid’s favorite”: The Wild Horse Museum, Park & Library.
This is a very family oriented location with lots to do within 300 yards of your stay! Additional shopping, grocery stores, Restaurants galore and Movie theatre/Putt-Putt Golf just 4 miles away located at TimBuck II shopping plaza.

There were some nice things:
-The AC worked great
-the kids really enjoyed the pool table
-the pool was nice after it was cleaned. It was dirty when we arrived.
-access to the beach, stores and other amenities was good..
Now the negatives.
-the was garbage under the beds and furniture.
-two drawers in the kitchen nearly fell on our feet when opened. My son- in-law helped me get them back on track.
-the refrigerator had several problems. On arrival neither the water dispenser nor ice maker worked and all three door racks were broken. Management sent a repair person the next day but it failed again the day before we left.
-the adults who used the king size beds downstairs said they were very uncomfortable.
-two of the drains were exceedingly slow.
-two light switches appeared to be bad. The lights flickered and worried one of my daughters.
-There was large pile of discarded rusty, broken beach chairs and pool toys.
-When we arrived the hot tub was running but only had about 4 inches of water in it. I was afraid the motor would burn out. The same person who temporarily repaired the fridge repaired the hot tub, but we did not use it.
Overall we enjoyed the OBX area but not this property.
