Casita Ristra is a freestanding house artfully created to give one couple or single that perfect luxury downtown Santa Fe living experience. Read my reviews, please, as even my great photos don't quite show how exceptional - inviting and peaceful - the feeling in the casita truly is! You will love the sense of how much care has been put into making this your favorite place to retreat, while being minutes from everything!
Quiet and hidden behind a unique locked double gate, Casita Ristra is only three short blocks from the historic Santa Fe Plaza, two blocks from the Georgia O’Keeffe museum and one from the Santa Fe Convention Center. The Guadalupe Railyard District is also only a few blocks away and a pleasant walk to famous Canyon Road along the Alameda River Walk.
Sunny with high ceilings, hand-carved beams in every room, numerous skylights and historic-style divided-light windows. Colorful Southwest rugs and color scheme warm and brighten the spirit. Feel at home in every way!
You have a private coyote-fenced flagstone patio in the front courtyard perfect for coffee or charcoal-grill barbecue at the umbrella table seating 4 (for your old or new friends!) and a covered pergola patio off the master so you can relax in the Summer shade or watch the snowfall in Winter.
King bed, large airy bedroom, fine linens, soft pillows, ironed pillowcase, a top-quality mattress, 32" Smart HD flatscreen TV and Preferred Cable. The living room also has an extra-large Smart HD flatscreen TV and Preferred Cable and a real wood burning traditional kiva fireplace (with complimentary first-fire fragrant pinon firewood set-up).
The kitchen is fully and thoughtfully equipped with added conveniences, a gas stove, double-door stainless refrigerator (filtered water and ice), microwave, and handsome tableware.
The bathroom has oodles of cabinet storage and a terrific custom-tiled shower (with grab bar) and washer/dryer for your use.
Other amenities include "real" refrigerated central air-conditioning and forced air heating system, free super-high-speed wireless internet, great closet space with lots of hangers, full-length mirror, luggage racks and extra blankets, overhead fans, extra table fan, humidifier, yoga mat.
We clean the casita ourselves, so it is CLEAN (read: pristine) and everything works!

Our May 2026 stay at Casita Ristra was wonderful. The property was better than the photos conveyed and perfectly met our specific needs for a 4-night stay. Host Victoria provided excellent, prompt communication and truly cared about our experience. We enjoyed easy spur-of-the-moment walks to the plaza area for lunches/ historic sites/ galleries/ shopping, cooking dinner in the well-appointed kitchen (knives were even sharp!), relaxing in the fenced, private outdoor spaces at different times of day, and listening to the birds in the quiet neighborhood. The safe, flat layout with ground-level access was easy for our senior blind dog to navigate both inside and out.In addition to paved routes, there are two major hiking and biking trail systems each just 10 minutes away that we enjoyed miles on each morning. On site parking (and generally throughout the area) is best suited for smaller cars or SUVs and we were glad we chose not to bring our full size truck on this trip. Although the house is technically walkable to the Railyard, I would recommend expecting to just drive to that area.Plant-based visitors: be sure to check out Fiesta Oaxaca just a few blocks away. They offer multiple dishes with vegan protein and their Mole de Oaxaca was amazing! Thank you again Victoria for your hospitality!

Casita Ristra is perfectly located for a walking adventure in SF. Great restaurants, shops and museums are just a stroll away. The Casita itself is very private and quiet. Every possible amenity is provided. Parking off street, washer/dryer, dishwasher and Host is just a phone call away. We had no problems with critters including ants. Casita Ristra is our favorite VRBO!

We had a wonderful stay at this casita and would absolutely return. The location couldn’t have been better—an easy walk to both the Plaza and the Railyard district, which made exploring incredibly convenient. The courtyard was beautiful, private, and a perfect spot to relax in the sun, especially with our dogs.The casita itself was the perfect size for two people and was exceptionally clean. We had a mix of weather during our stay, and the HVAC system kept us comfortable the entire time. The bed was also very comfortable, which made it easy to settle in and feel at home.The host was incredibly thoughtful and went above and beyond to help us after our stay, which we truly appreciated. They were also very attentive without being intrusive.The only minor downside was the presence of sugar ants. The host does note this in the property description and house rules, and we followed all guidelines carefully, but we still encountered them in noticeable numbers. It didn’t ruin our stay, but it’s something future guests may want to keep in mind.Overall, this is a fantastic place in a great location with a thoughtful and considerate host—we’d happily stay again.
