About this house rental
Welcome to paradise! You are renting a great beach house in the Pleasure Point area of Santa Cruz, CA, the famous surfing and hanging-out beach. The house is a 5min walk to the beach. I purchased this house so visitors with kids (or just kids at heart) would have a fun relaxing time. The amenities include a large backyard (for the beach) with a game room (includes 42" TV, Ms. PAC-MAN / Galaga Arcade game, and a foosball table). On the back patio, we have an outdoor dining set, large stainless BBQ, ping-pong table, deck, and of course... a large HOT TUB! In the garage, the fun continues with surfboards (beginner and experienced riders), boogie boards, wetsuits, beach chairs, umbrella, kids beach toys, beach cruisers etc. All for your entertainment and entertaining.
The house has 5 bedrooms. (We have an 8 adult max)
1) The 'master' bedroom with a King Bed and private bathroom
2) The 'guest' bedroom with a Queen Bed
3) The 'kids' bedroom with a Twin over Full bunk bed
4) The 'breezeway' bedroom with a pull-out/pop-up trundle daybed (two twins)
5) The 'office' bedroom with a Queen Bed and desk
The house has full 2 bathrooms
1) The 'master' bathroom has two sinks, shower/tub, toilet, and skylight
2) The 'hallway' bathroom has a one sink, shower/tub and toilet
The kitchen is loaded with stainless steel appliances and fully stocked with cookware.
The house sits on a private road. No parking passes required. In addition, the house is on a cul-de-sac which leads to low traffic for a beach house. Safe for playing in the street.

The house is 1500 Sq Ft and a flat roof (which means lower than normal ceilings in the back 2 bedrooms) 7ft guests not recommended.

Our family had a great vacation here! Good communication with host .Very close to everything dog/kid park, beach, fun food options, & shopping. Quiet neighborhood.So much fun with old school video arcade game, ping pong, lots of board games, puzzles, reading material.Big bubbling clean hot tub, and fire pit. Plenty of comfortable beds for the whole family, all the amenities for cooking in the kitchen, bikes, beach chairs, boards, & towels.

This residence is in a great location. Walking distance from the ocean. An easy bike ride to Capitola. Great back yard. Though we only had a family of four the house has the capacity to easy hold a lot more. The only advice I have for the owner is there are some easy fixes to make the house appearance better. (Fix small holes in doors, and the toilet paper holder in both bathrooms.). But overall a great experience.

My family and some friends were traveling from up north to Santa Cruz for the weekend as we were going to run a 5K for Mother’s Day. When we got to the house, not only did it meet the expectations but actually it exceeded them as the home is very spacious and had plenty of additional bedding and cushions for our large families. we were only blocks away from the beach and to our surprise there was surfboards and wetsuits and bikes and sand toys and everything you could possibly need in the garage and we utilize that to the fullest and went surfing and had the time of our life. The property was clean and had wonderful accommodations for towels and games, etc. We can’t wait to go back and we will definitely be staying here again! Thank you for the awesome two night stay!

I want to give this property a great review, but it actually doesn't deserve one. I loved the many cool things the owners have added so that your vacation can be easy and entertaining just being there...of course, that's why I booked it 5 months ago! BUT so many things needed attention, it took away from our time there. We did communicate the most urgent matters to the owners and they did, within a couple of days, call in a plumber so the leaky toilet was replaced as was the broken kitchen faucet while we were there. There were many other things we noticed after being there a few days, that just made us feel the rental was overvalued. If the owners were interested in improvements, they could easily come in, throw away some old stuff and do some general maintenance to get it up to speed (ie. bedding and towels old & worn, dirty carpet, really dirty BBQ, broken floor threshold room divider). The garage had lots of items we could use, but that was disappointing too! The wet suits were nasty, holey and old. Unfortunately, only 2 of the 4 bikes had a little bit of air in the tires and no tire pump was found. It just was not up to the standards we expected. Perhaps the property is rented so much, they don't take the time to go through it? I truly think a bit of time maintaining this property would solve these issues allowing renters to enjoy the space as it is intended.
